show them they dont need to "lower the threshold" for the BF franchise as a 2 year old can play it lol
 
I suppose it hinges on whether he understands what is going on, what guns are and what the red stuff is.
Either way being presented with such an over stimulating experience is maybe a bad idea, it's a bad idea for adults as we spend way too much time gaming.

At age two he doesn't yet understand the whole concept of violence and when he is a bit older and more aware then we shall ensure that he only plays on suitable games, at present he is just running around and getting to grips with controls and getting hand eye co-ordination.

I have no itention of raising a violent child and he is being taught right from wrong and a good moral structure and gradually he is learning to understand such concepts.
 
It's way too early to be playing violent FPS games imo, the brain goes through most of its development in the first few years. You should get him a Wii U instead.

Ok would you show him cannibal holocaust? if he yet doesn't understand he wont be fazed them according to you. Whilst yes he wont fully understand he will grow up thinking its ok to shoot a person in the face for no reason. Like someone else said get him minecraft on peaceful.
 
I'm not overly impressed. Missed a few easy kills and spent some time spinning around in a lane for no reason.
 
Thing is people are saying this is bad but how many parents buy their children (or adults as kids played with) toy guns and swords? I remember going to the fair every year as a child and my dad buying me a new plastic sword to play with (they didn't last very long).

You could even saying toy cars are a bad idea as most kids do the screetching and high powered engine noises when playing with them which could be argued as teaching them that speeding and joyriding are acceptable behaviours.
 
The way he plays, which by the way is for maybe 5 minutes in any one sitting as he is more interested in running about, there is no violence, it's on single player with the bots set on easy. At very most he stumbles across a lone soldier and follows him about. Even if by chance he stumbles across any action, there is no blood, no swearing, nothing explicitly violent in any way unless you count people falling over.

I wouldn't let him play if there was anymore more graphic than he might see in the local park, eg boys shooting imaginary guns and failing over, that is all there is to BF2 at his age!

He is developing his hand eye coordination and enjoying being in control of what is moving on the screen.
 
all my boys played games early. as long as there's not overly graphic content cant see that much of a issue.

made a video once of my boy when he was 5 owning all on cod 2 cause they thought it was me :D funny thing some where best in work at time :p
 
Good god. A father making his own decision about what's appropriate for his child? Don't you know we have a government to make these decisions for you?
 
Glad you enjoy spending time with your son, my son likes to spend time on the PC as well but we play age appropriate games that he can enjoy and learn from (Cbeebies has some great ones). Plenty of time for him to grow up, no rush.
 
To be safe I would encourage something else, mario galaxy or similar. Although from what the OP has said I don't think it would do the child any harm at all.

I'm astounded by your sons skills though!
 
Oh he plays those as well and is in fact very good at them but from time to time he enjoys running about following soldiers (not that he knows what soliders are) on screen...
