NeverWinter

I still don't understand this game. I love D&D, I loved Neverwinter Night, Baldur's Gate, all of them.

This game is fun, I enjoy it, but I just can't bring myself to play most of the time. When I do though I'm playing for hours on end...

So... how does it compare to wow and gw2? Can you guys see yourselves playing this game for a long time? Is it different?

Grind/time required/repetitiveness puts me off wow and the social aspect isn't as appealing as it used to be. What I mean by the last bit is that in the early days of wow dungeon raiding was very focused on 5 man socialising where as now it is more about being in the best guild and raiding the biggest dungeon. The 5 mans are just used to gear up quickly in a 5 minute or less run with no social interaction or planning at all.

Yeah they're unexpectedly down, they're trying to appease with trivia on Facebook. :/

Well what would you prefer them to do? They are showing they are around and given updates every 30minutes to an hour. I'd rather them do trivia etc while the engineers and others try and fix the problems, than having no contact at all and wondering when and if they will come back up.

It's refreshing having a company who gives you updates let alone frequent ones, most games as of late have terrible customer service and even worse public relations. You spend half your time never knowing whats going on, where as the older games especially and now this seem to keep you in the loop as best they can.

Suffers the same as other PW games, no Euro servers, only US.

Cannot deal with the 0.5-ish second lag on everything, especially if you rely on blocking, dodging and movement in the game to be effective.

I've heard that they will be adding server based in Europe if there is enough need for it, but I don't know how true that is. It would be nice to have as I have around 250ms latency currently.

Will play if they do this, as it does seem fun (Only got to level 3 however, the latency issue is too big for me to ignore), but I won't play an MMO where 250ms latency is the norm, especially if it's got a focus on high end PvE and PvP where 0.5 seconds can make the difference between whether you wipe or kill a boss.

Will be giving this a miss for now, wait until the game is out and fully received.

I know beta is beta but too many server down, server full, server queue, server offline issues for me to cope with.

Getting 100 - 130 ping. Plays fine here, not like it's a FPS or anything.

Granted that latency isn't as important as in an FPS game, but there's still a noticeable delay using skills and dodging/blocking attacks which is important in the game.

Give me Euro servers and I'll happily play.

Loving this so far. I think it plays fine. Not been in one queue yet and haven't noticed any latency issues. While fighting, the enemy tells are so obvious and slow that you have at least a whole second to dodge/interrupt, whatever action you need to do. 120ms isn't going to make much of a difference.

I'm lvl 25 now and haven't died once yet and I'm not a competitive player by a any means. So if the latency was a problem i would have thought i'd be struggling a lot more. Unless the game is really easy ofc ;)
