You cannot compare 60 Hz 4K vs 144 Hz 4K. Totally different planets.
Agreed I don’t want a 60hz non G-Sync panel that I can’t leave on displaying static images. Just not interested.

Only different planets if your trying to justify why someone would spend thousands on a tiny PC monitor when the visual difference is just FPS & inferior HDR modes thanks to Win 10 Playready 3.0 DRM for HDR (locked to Intel GPU devices only). You cannot compare 60 Hz 4K vs 144 Hz 4K. Totally different planets.
Visually 99.9% of gamers were shown a blind test 4K 60 Hz with games & UHD movies vs 144 (which will have to run @ 60 for UHD content) I doubt you would see any major difference except your bank balance!
Not to mention a 55” OLED tv is of no use as a desktop gaming monitor for PC usage or any other day to day non gaming uses. That’s what these new monitors are aimed at. They’re not aimed at TV viewing, movies or even console gaming so it’s silly to compare them to large TVs
"Visual difference is just FPS"... That's not a trivial statement!
Source/evidence? I've heard many more people say 60 vs 144 Hz is a huge difference when gaming than not.

Aye I don't get why people keep saying buy an OLED instead of this monitor or any other, even for gaming. The image on my C7 looks better but that is the only advantage it has.
As someone who has tried various monitors out and now uses an OLED TV for gaming, I completely disagree.

That is the first mistake everyone always makes, is assuming that you can use it as a "desktop" monitor, get past that, otherwise you are just setting yourself up for disappointment.
I still keep a monitor for "desktop" usage i.e. browsing etc. Anything gaming, media related goes on the TV. Essentially my setup is like a dual display setup, everything flows and works flawlessly between the 2.
For my needs/wants, monitors just don't come close to a 55" OLED display, once you see the IQ of OLED (especially with HDR on top of it), it makes every monitor look horrible, especially on dark scenes. I even hate just doing desktop related things on LCD monitors now....
Also, motion clarity is noticeably better on my OLED TV, especially when I put it into 120HZ mode.
Yes it doesn't have sync tech. nor as responsive as these "gaming" monitors but everything else about it imo is leagues ahead.
Input lag, I'm not that sensitive to but when the TV is in 120HZ mode (and all the TV processing features are disabled), it feels just as responsive as any 120+HZ monitors, at least to me, maybe to the CS:S pros, it would be awful but I'm just a casual gamer now.
You're paying £1300 for a 55" 4k HDR OLED panel
You're paying £2200 for a 27" FALD LCD panel
Yes I know the monitor has gsync + 144HZ @ 4k but the first 2 main points are the main factors that stand out when it comes to pricing imo. There is a lot of gouging going on with monitor prices nowadays.
And personally being an IQ obsessed guy, less money for a superior IQ and vastly larger display is the obvious path.
Oh and most importantly, compare the warranties......
Still waiting for a half decent 24" or below 4k display so I can run it at 200% scaling.
And as someone here who has tried a multitude of gaming monitors and a B7 OLED TV then I'd have to disagree with you. Everyone is different of course but no way are TV's anywhere *near* as smooth as a high hz gaming monitor with Gsync/proper Freesync. YMMV of course and everyone is different, but I've tried and keep coming back to a high hz monitor as you just can't beat it for gaming (tbf 120hz 1080p was a *lot* better, and the high hz 4k ones with VRR should be quite stunning).
I agree that the pricing is way out but I think most people using a PC need a screen that fits in with a PC setup. I could get a 55" OLED and incorporate it into my PC setup but it would be problematic, I couldn't leave it on all day like all of my other PC screens, and in the end I'd prefer using my ultrawide for gaming because G-Sync + high hz wins out for me.
Other than the sync or hz thing though, it's just the practicality of it. We want a PC monitor that fits in with our PC setup and I would guess that so do the majority of PC users.
All personal preference though. I just don't get recommending a 55" TV to fit into our PC setups over a smaller monitor with more relevant PC technologies.
I downgraded my TV from 50" to 27". You'll not convince me to put a 55" monstrosity on my desk.

To be fair, gaming habits will have a big influence on the OLED TV vs gaming monitor debate. If you play Witcher 3 most of the time, then the 55" TV will probably be best, but it you play Overwatch then you want a smaller monitor (24-32") and higher refresh rate.
but I find due to the faster pixel response time of oled
Just had a look acer predator 1440p 144hz gsync around 500 quid 55 inch LG oled 1400. So lets make it 2000 pounds.
