You are right! **** so they will go from an x34p IPS to a x35 VA ? they have already the z35 that is VA, what the hell are they thinking?
 
VA panels have distinct strengths, particularly when it comes to contrast. Take it from somebody with considerable experience of HDR monitors including 384 zone FALD IPS-types.. Even with a multi-hundred zone FALD, VA offers a superior contrast experience in HDR. They handle inctricate mixtures of light and dark a lot better and unlike IPS-types do not tend to have issues with 'glow' or halos. Admittedly I have not yet used a VA FALD solution, but based on what I have already seen with VA HDR solutions that use far fewer dimming zones, I have no doubt it will offer a superior HDR contrast experience.

That isn't to say that FALD IPS-types don't offer a really awesome HDR experience. Just don't be fooled into thinking there is no advantage to using a VA panel in HDR.
