*NEW* 150Gb Raptors

So OcUK only have the Sever versions in stock...? any idea when the gaming edition Raptors will be released and if there are any tests/benchmarks/comparisons done between the two different versions?

Read the review at storagereview that adwhitworth posted earlier. The Server version and the gaming version(X-Raptor) are identical in terms of performance, the only difference being that the gaming version has a clear windows in the casing, allowing you to see the internals working.

The "Raptor-X" (WD1500AHFD) will be out around mid-February and no earlier. It is also going to carry a fairly weighty premium. The internals themselves are exactly the same and as said - the only difference is the window.

Think I'll pass on the gamer version and save £30 ish. I'm really tempted by the server version though but I'm only using 40GB of my OS drive right now so it will probably be best if I go for the 74GB Raptor.

Ah right... i'm sure i read the review Adwhitworth posted, unless i googled it

cheers for clearing that up anyway - looks like i'll be giving the Gaming edition a miss, no need for a see through HDD when you dont have a case window or a transparent case :p

I've ordered one. I may sell my 74GB raid...or this new one....depends how it is. Bit bored of raptor raid now..might go for two cheap 40gb drives...

Problem is, Raptor single is so fast, I don't notice difference between that and RAID0 raptors... and this way I don't have to worry about failure of the RAID. Will probably RAID1 my storage drive too.

Providing there is nothing wrong with your payment and you get your order in early enough then yes they would. :)

That's what credit cards are for.

Yep, and that's where they're going as soon as I find out how much the bonus is :)
