and don't forget the new 9 series is rumoured to be out in feb.If this is true save ya money for the real update. this card is what crysis is designed for not these tweaks we raving about at moment
 
No one is disputing that the RRP is not £200. If there are shortages with the GTS as with the GT, the price is going to be slightly higher depending on where you buy.

Ive seen a few European sites with pre orders up and have to say its not looking to promising price wise.

I hope that's not typical :(
 
Here's my thoughts on the matter (yes, purely speculation).

The 8800GT 512 will never really come into mainstream availability once the GTS is out, they'll quietly introduce the 256 8800GT in large numbers instead for around the £150 mark and the GTS will be around the £250 mark at launch, £220 once the gouging's settled...that'll leave enough of a performance differential to matter enough for people to get the better card.

I wouldn't be suprised if the 512 8800GT was purely a spoiler for the 3870 and was only a limited run (much like the 6800Ultra extreme).

It would make sense that if the GTS 512 comes into GT 512 pricing teritory, but I find a 256mb GT pointless now unless you are gaming at 1024x768 or lower.

Probably I am deluded. I thought I was going to get a GT for £140-£150. .......and would have if I hadn't been at work.

A lot of people did get their GT cards for £140-£150 don't forget.

The revised GTS is a few mm shorter no? I have the P5K Premium and atm I use a X1800 XT. Looks about the same size as the current GTS.

The P5K Premium I might add has 2 types of SATA leads, one typical one as you all know and another that has sort of been folded over so it does no poke upwards, it goes across sideways. It was a simple yet great idea.
 
Be interesting to see the first day prices, last lot of card releases imo have had either dissapointing price above people were expecting or crap availability..or both. :eek:
 
I don't understand why your not allowed to know a price of a piece of hardware before it's released cannot think of any reason not to be allowed to know.
Looking at current GT prices i will take a stab at £250 unless retailers are suddenly going to drop the gt price and keep this at £200 hmmm.
