New A1 has arrived

You just need a roll of filament and it's good to go. Depending on how humid the room is then you may need a room dehumidifier or a filament drier. If you're ordering from Bambu direct then you can add a roll or two of PLA in the deal too. I've just tried some Elegoo PLA+ and that seems pretty good (only done some benchies though so far)

The video looks relevant still.

Thanks.

Without going into anything more exotic at this point, if humidity could be an issue, then I would probably chose one room over the other. 50% RH as against 72% as I type this.

A roll or two of PLA, sounds good.

Thought about ordering direct as I would not know of who to deal with that could offer decent customer service.
Hopefully that applies to Bambu directly.

I loved my mini so much I bought the larger A1 combo and now picked up an AMS Lite for my mini. My 11 year old son is loving it and I have him working through the TinkerCAD tutorials that in turn will help support him in school in Design and Tech. My 6 yr old daughter just likes the printed things for the moment.

Awesome to see that. My daughter is the same age and keen to get me printing out little Pokemon figures or whatnot.

Thanks.

I ordered my first few rolls direct when I ordered the A1, at checkout you get offered a nice discount on accessories.

I wouldn't worry about a filament drier or a dehumidifier, its much less of an issue with PLA.

If it becomes an issue deal with it then, otherwise just crack on.

Bambu probably has the best prices if you are ordering 8 rolls of standard PLA (basic and matt). EDIT: If buying from a UK source (e.g. not Aliexpress)

Agree with this. I think at the moment there’s a scale of discount. 4-7 then 8+

I bought half a dozen rolls of Overture the other day as there was a good sale, there’s dedicated profiles for them within the Bambu app and printer etc but at normal prices I’d buy direct

The toolbox turned out pretty well. Can't get my head around how it printed the 2 halves with the hinge already in place :)

Only issue was with the hinges which went a bit messy for some reason quite early in the print but they still worked with a bit of filing so not worth printing again.

Thanks. Not sure if I should be distracted for too long, but just noted a review of "Anycubic Kobra 3 Combo ". Decent pricing, but there is more than that to a decent printer.....

Anycubic has a promo for their new S1 combo which has a filament dryer function in the AMS as well, which I found interesting! Price isn't bad either. Need to read some reviews.

Interesting, not seen much apart from promotional type videos covering it, as yet.

But....shipping date

Estimated Shipping Time: March 1st - March 10th

I'm going to have a go printing the toolbox tomorrow, will update how I get on

I got an a1 mini for Christmas and so far it's been great from the point of view of a complete 3d printing noob. It's handled everything I've thrown at it, including some Hero forge dnd minis and a couple super basic things I've put together myself from the bambulabs desktop thing.
Have run into a couple things that are a little too big for the mini, so can certainly see the advantages of the a1, but so far for me at least those have been very few and far between. I love it.

Well this just blew my mind. A functioning bearing printed in one piece
