New Alienware Q3 2020

Yeah I’ve heard dell monitors warranty is top end, 3 years too my receipt says

my card has been charged where’s earlier it hasn’t so at least it’s processing through the system

Perksatwork code, there are Black Friday discount codes to be found online as well.

Thanks for that, I used the online chat thing.
I chatted to a lady who gave me a quote at the full price of £696.
I then just asked if there were any addition discounts, she then sent me another quote for £626.
I then asked if student discount could be applied. She said not to the discount price of £626 but can be applied to £696, so final price came to £556.80 once I gave her "my" student email :D Delivery date of 01/12/20 too.

I'm torn. Just recieved my quote for £556.80 thanks to advantage for employees. Only thing stopping me is that if the store page gets fixed top cashback have 9% back currently (just over £40 back) and the double dell reward points come to £30 worth making the effective price £486.80.
On the other hand I can see the stock dissapearing quite rapidly.

Edit: Decided I'd be more annoyed if I missed it completely than losing out on cashback considering I already got 20% off. Advisor also said delivery Tuesday.

Nice! Guess it really depends who you speak to on these things, I asked about student discount on both chat and phone, but got told it couldn't be applied. Still happy with £626, can't wait for it to arrive now.

Just got another sales rep confirming that it is in stock in the US, with shipping for UK for 12 of Jan?
Not sure if this guy knew what he was talking about..

I just placed an order as well, and I think I can shed some light on this.

From my order:
Order Date: 29/11/2020
Estimated Delivery Date: 01/12/2020

I am pretty confident that the sales rep mistakenly read the UK shipping date with the US date format (Month/Day/Year). But comparing my order date and delivery date, it definitely seems to be December 1 for UK at the moment.

i tried my luck with the dell chat.. the rep confirmed it is in stock and will ship out on the Dec 1st... i used my dell advantage code to get 20% off maybe i could have hustled and got more off but im perfectly happy with £1040 as i expected to pay around £1200-1300 after using the code..

now we shall see if it arrives in good time or not...

Topcashback usually decline claims that have used a voucher code not affiliated with them, so it’s better to get guaranteed discount while you can than risk it imo

Hey guys are the Dell advantage codes tied to your particular email or something? I'd be interested myself if I could get it for that! Thought it worth an ask :)

To be honest, i'm not sure how it works. It appears to be personal to you so i'm not sure how dell don't spot if your code is getting used across multiple accounts.

But people are "selling" the 20% off dell advantage codes on ebay if you look.

mine is through my work email and unique so if you leak it out they would know its you

Not sure if they are unique to you, or maybe unique to your organisation. If it's the latter that's probably why multiple uses of the same code across different accounts doesn't flag it. Either way with it being through work there's no way in hell i'm chancing sharing it. I'd love everybody to get 20% off, but i'm not risking my job. Leave that to the people on ebay :)

Oh yeah that's true. The £30 in dell rewards would have been nice as I intend to pick up a second monitor to go vertical with the AW2721D but like you said the guarunteed price now and actual availability trumps a little extra savings.

Has anyone read anything that mentions FreeSync/adaptive-sync support on the 3821dw?

Been holding out for it for a while and originally was going to get one of the LG models for the FreeSync support but am put off a bit by the 1 year warranty and would prefer to stick with Dell.

Has anyone read anything that mentions FreeSync/adaptive-sync support on the 3821dw?

From TFT Central: Even if they did feature a Native G-sync module it is also still likely that they could still support AMD systems via the latest NVIDIA firmware, but with the module being used this could bring about benefits in terms of VRR performance and features like variable overdrive and super low input lag." https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/blog/d...more-specs-information-and-g-sync-discussion/

I have/had a preorder for the 38WN95C, which I intended to use with my MBP 16 inch, and AMD eGPU (+ Windows 10 bootcamp). But for various reasons (38WN stock, LG's supposedly bad quality control, and the lower price tag of 1040 with Dell Advantage), I placed an order for the AW3821DW today.

I have no idea how well the AW3821DW will work with my MBP 16 inch and AMD eGPU setup, so if anyone has any more information regarding the (unofficial?) and presumed FreeSync support I would be interested to know as well!

Regarding the G-Sync/FreeSync concerns for those with AMD, here there are quite a few people discussing the LG 38GL950 (G-Sync monitor, which works with FreeSync) and the Alienware AW3420DW (G-Sync monitor, which works with FreeSync). So I would assume that the AW3821DW will work with FreeSync as well?

Not necessarily, The AW3821 has a hardware g-sync ultimate module, so different Variable Refresh Rate tech.

AW3821DW just appeared in Poland. The price is 7300 PLN which is generally in line with 38GN950 and 38WN95C. My cancelled order in Proshop was even more than that. This is equal to 1460 pounds though. What exact codes did you use to get price as low as you did? Got it down to 1320 with student discount and I think that's it, no other codes I could find work. This is exactly the amount I wanted to pay so guess nevermind, I will just place an order

Some of the recent G-sync modules have normal VRR support as well, like LG 38GL950G. So you can use VRR with other sources than NVIDIA GPU. Don't know how well it works and if it is just a fallback to regular flickery VRR or not, but the option is apparently there.

When I placed my order earlier today the price was down from 1600 to 1300 pounds (Black Friday?). 1300 with the 20% Dell Advantage discount got it down to 1040.
