New Alienware Q3 2020

What monitor arm would you reckon would be best for this? Seems the Ergotron LX works well for those with the LG 38 Ultrawides, so I'm guessing it'll be fine?

Also the code VCLOUD8 took another ~£100 off for me.

Just brought AW3821DW, should arrive in two days, it ships from Poland.
Dell customer service rep a was great help, as they redirected a pervious order AW3420DW for return and refund.

Excited!

Pretty much the same here. I was giving up on the AW3821DW and was going to buy a AW3420DW, as a last hope before I bought it I asked if there was any sign of the AW3821DW yet, and I nearly fell over when he said yes and sent me a link to the order page!!

I just managed to get an AW3420DW for £663.40 - £763.40 with £100 AMEX cash back. Seemed a pretty good deal I thought?

Great price for a monitor that a very short while ago was £1100. They are really good monitors and that's just a bargain.

I feel you on that, I also wasn't expecting AW3821DW to arrive until late December/Jan.
I did manged to get my order down to £1,196.74 from using a discount code.

No I mean just a few days ago they were denying all knowledge of them. I thought with the shortages of everything they would be late. But they are actually shipping faster than the AW3420DW. I also thought they would be the advertised "normal" price of £1650. I really hadn't expected them today, and at that price. And great price by the way! I got carried away and forgot to look for a code, lol.

I'm waiting for some reviews before jumping on the AW3821DW.

Anyone who gets one tomorrow can you please check for any overclocking settings? I'm very curious whether this can be driven past 144Hz as it'll make a big difference to my purchasing decision.

EDIT: Hmm just occurred to download the manual and there's no mention of overclocking so it looks like the screen is capped at 144Hz.

This is a major bummer. I was hoping it would be overclockable to 160Hz like the equivalent LG.

144Hz may sound more than enough but remember my AW3418DW does 120Hz already so it's a lot of money to shell out for only a modest increase in size and resolution and only 24 additional Hz.

I can't say that I have ever overclocked a monitor but one thing I can tell you is there are no setting in the UI that mention it.

Yes I must confess that if I had an AW3418DW I would think long and hard about upgrading. I would be more tempted to wait a year until it's in the next Black Friday sale! As you say it's a lot of money for a modest upgrade. And the AW3418DW is a great monitor.

Was that a chat order? I still haven't had anything beyond the 'order received' email..

Yes and neither have I. I was one of the first to do it I think as got in really early, went on live chat again today to get my order number an was then able to track it from my account using the customer number on the invoice. Quite poor that it’s shipped and no notifications but hey ho! Buzzing that the end of 60hz work monitor are nearly over!

Top tip, will give that a go, thanks!

Edit: worked a treat, shipped, woo! That saves me obsessively refreshing emails every few minutes...

11:30 from Tilberg so on the same vehicle as yours :) Bagsy the one with no dead pixels...

Well that is interesting to say the least. I ordered it in Poland it my ETA is 11th December, shipment on 8th, and you get it shipped from Poland in two days? How does that work.. :p Product page says shipment today but my actual order says 8th for shipping and 11th for delivery. Still unconfirmed though, theoretically they say up to 2 days for confirmation.
