New Apple Hardware - Today?

Bah, how old are you 12? :p

37 actually!

Are you going to use the iMac as a display for your PC also due to the DisplayPort In port? We need pics with hovis btw! :)

I could do, but as I have a displayport on the HP i could do it the other way as well, could be good when I am using Logic to have another screen, although 27" is massive!

The hell your going bed. Take a mobile pic or something!! we just simply want teasing!

I have taken a small video with my iphone and uploaded to youtube, here is the link, I have to get a decent camera as my iphone struggles to get it in picture it's so large!

anyway here is the video:

enjoy!

Looks nice but I still think Apple should have kept the 24inch iMac. ;)

Yeah I know what you mean as it's not THAT much bigger, but I do really like the higher resolution and the fact now that when I play a widescreen tv show it fills the screen properly, also 1080p content looks amazing on this screen.

I have had 2 24" imac's (older white one and aluminium one) and this has by far the best quality screen. The IPS image is amazing, the colours are great too, my wife is about to have a baby so I am also thinking forward that I might want a bit of time relaxing away from the lounge, so with this I can watch 720p or 1080p content quite happily with headphones on!

Nice! What do you think of the HP screens by the way?

Also had a visit to the apple store in glasgow today, the 27 inch is so imposing, its unreal. I think its the ultimate in style for a one screen computer but would look wierd with another monitor attached.

Went into a Apple store earlier today and got a try of that new mouse, first time I'd ever used a Mac though so it was a bit of a strange experience for me. Although that mouse wasn't too bad at all.

Popped into the London store today for a quick browse + my missus is quite keen on the idea of getting a MBP after seeing mine. Got a chance to gander at the new iMacs and the mighty mouse.

21.5" iMac: Didn't like. Bezel looks oddly large and the 1920x1080 16:9 screen is for want of a better phrase, teh fail.

27" iMac: Is a very impressive peice of kit on the shelf. It's sodding massive. The sheer amount of resolution does alleviate the 16:9 issue somewhat, it's just a shame no-one makes a 27" 2560x1600 panel instead of the 1440 one they're using. It's also a shame there is no matt screen option. If you're serious about using one of those for serious work, the last thing you want is a glossy screen. The iMacs seem, once again, financial penis extensions for your hallway table. If you didn't think the 24 shouted loud enough, this is sure to fit the bill.

Mighty Mouse: And true to form, Apple reinventing something that didn't need reinventing. It's just pointless. Aesthetically wonderful no doubt, but that's it. I'l take a logitech/wacom!

Actually I think it depends on what you're using it for, for me I am using it for running Logic Pro, So the more screen "real estate" I can have the better!
I know what you mean about the glossy screen but I really don't mind it, I do use photoshop sometimes and Indesign too, but it doesn't really bother me.

As for the "Magic" Mouse, I actually have got used to using it and it's quite cool. I went around to someone's house to help them with their 24" iMac and they have the old Mighty Mouse, and I definately prefer the new one.

I suppose it's all down to personal preference...
