@Plec only thing different with my build is the monitor lol was running fine till updates of bios and gpu
*On phone
Can't tell from pic - could you clarify, are you using two separate leads to the GPU - i.e. 6+2 from one independent lead and then just the 6 from a totally different lead?
Ideally, two separate leads - your PSU should accommodate from spec.
Will rule out any ambiguity and may even solve some issues.
More than enough in a well ventilated case - as long as the front are orientated as intakes.
Might be time to test your memory thoroughly:
Run Memtest HCI (leave to own devices once it's running) - Memtest.
Read the instructions - run to 400% (explained in instructions - watch for first 20 minutes, if it doesn't freeze, as 'may' give off errors very quickly if it's the problem)
*Additional - before you do anything what is your memory set at?
What memory did you buy?
From what was specced your memory should be running reading 1600 in CPU-z (i.e. DDR 2 x 1600 = 3200MHz).
Meant in cpuz its at 1599.6mhz
We may have found the problem, depending on your reply.
Yeah, every chance given the speed in which they're chucking them out.
@Kevin Matthews - is yours the card with coil whine? If so you have a valid reason for return if you wanted to try this (although TNS manage to swap his out with zero issues - @tamzzy? - not sure they even questioned it?)
@Kevin Matthews - don't suppose you have a spare GPU and also could you drop your memory to 2993MHz and run this for a couple of days while you decide. And keep an eye out for BIOS/Driver updates...
@Kevin Matthews - it's not often we reach this stage but we have.
Take your PC (all of it), place it in an unmarked case, letting some loose wires hang out, and then leave it lying around in a public place and then let bomb disposal take care of the rest. You'll be doing your mental health a favour in the long term.
Or, we list its faults and resist smacking it repeatedly with a hammer while we do:
Is your mouse hardlined into the system (not wireless) and is it only in Programs/taskbar that it does it? Are you sure it doesn't do it within Chrome or games and you just can't hear it. Also, are you 100% sure it's the PSU and not the GPU - you can use a cardboard tube to help isolate the noise if unsure.
- Occasional BSODs
- GPU coil whine (one of its many foibles not systematic of instability)
- Ambiguous Driver/BIOS conflicts (we need another update from one of them)
- PSU has joined in the fun - odd buzzing sound, possibly coil whine, signal interference or other
- It's developed sadistic AI - and is mocking us.
- Add ones i may have forgotten
Additional, what have you tried since you last posted:
- Any memtest results?
- Did you run at 2993MHz and experience stability issues still
- Something else i forgot?
