Can get the golf cheaper through private lease but obviously would need to keep it for 2 years. Rubbish last choice :(

about £130-140 per month.
It's still priced lower than what is available to the general public though lease/pcp schemes.
More exciting larger (than Golf) cars can be leased for a little more monthly payment but the initial payment will be over £1.5k+.

e.g. : BMW 3 GT 335i M Sport
£272 per month (inc VAT)
initial payment £1.6k (inc vAT)

Taking a brief look at lease deals; a Golf 1.6 TDi Match is £200 per month with a £600 initial payment. This is over 2 years with 8k miles pa

Indeed, I'd be surprised if a PCP/Lease could beat this scheme. No deposit and 8k per 6 month mileage.

If I left the scheme I'd likely get a bank loan and buy something 2nd hand. I'll have to weigh the options, because I'd like something suitably decent which means spending a fair amount.

It's every 6 months, with a 7,500 mileage allowance.

So I have my car confirmed for April 2016.

Golf Estate GT – 1.4 TSI DSG with Car-Net App
£138/month

In Limestone Grey, should do the trick for 6 months.

Yea 150PS, it was either that or the 2.0TDI 150PS. It was a no brainer. 0-60 in 8.4 is more than enough.

It's a fantastic engine, I was truly shocked when I test drove it. Ample power IMHO, and incredible economy with the ACT technology

Ok ok... :D Well it did weigh a lot less than your standard Focus given the engine is so tiny

I swear sometimes you have an notification that triggers whenever I post to come and troll me :p

Ford Focus Hatchback 1.5 TDCi (120bhp) : 1343 kg
Ford Focus Hatchback 1.0 EcoBoost (98bhp) : 1276 kg

A massive weight saving of 67kg :D
The power to weight is quite similar :)
