new car e39

There's going to be something that makes that car worth what it was sold for.

Value is really only what someone is willing to pay for it - you were willing to pay 1200 and nobody else was willing to pay higher. Thus, it's worth 1200 quid. Maybe other buyers spotted something you've missed, I dont know.

People don't tend to sell cars for less than they're worth - would be like me selling my Mondeo for a grand because I wanted a quick sale.

Its inevitably going to blow up like all the other cars

The skoda was just wear and tear it wanted a new turbo thats all, the skoda was a good car but i didnt want to keep it forever so just got rid

Translated: I knew the turbo was going to die soon so I flogged it to an unsuspecting buyer and told him there was nothing wrong with it so I wouldn't have to pick up the bill for a turbo.

amirite?!

it doesnt matter does it

what plannet do you live on where you spend £600-£800 on a car then sell it at a big loss

Its not like its gonna go bang after a week, it just used too much oil for my liking and smoked for a while on a cold morning

I havn't ruinied it i have the receipt for ECP and will stamp the service book myself

Great, service book with 10 stamps from BMW and 1 stamps from 'DannyW's driveway'. What was the last service in the book for? And what did you change on it today?

That'll appeal to somebody who wants to pay top dollar for a decent E39, not. It's now worth 1200 quid again, because its the same as all the other cheapos with patchy history.

it doesnt matter does it

Selling a car with a faulty turbo and saying 'The turbo is fine' doesnt matter?

It matters because of what it says about you...

Generally people keep cars for more than 2 minutes, so a big repair bill is a hit but on an otherwise reliable car its not a huge deal.

Like when my DMF went 6 months after I bought my car - I didn't sell it (telling the buyer "yerrr, diesels rattle like that"), I just fixed it and it's been flawless since. That's what normal people do, isnt it?

Odd comment, especially when you go on to say this:

Why is it odd? It seems to me he is basically trolling - he must know the stuff he posts is just going to get everyones back up, and it does.

This is a pretty huge point and its why nobody here will give him the time of day. He fancies himself as some sort of amazing wheeler dealer when in reality he is the epitome of whats wrong with used car sales.

No I realise this, but we've given him the best part of 6 pages so far, he's just going to keep coming back with stuff like: 'I've bought an M5 for £1000, it's a minter and I'm going to sell it for £££££s'.

n

well its on my conscience not yours, i bought a mondeo after the skoda which blew up, because that was using oil due the knackered piston rings

i guess what goes around comes around, ive learnt from it and i honestly told the buyer of my passat that it does use oil and to check it once a week, he wasnt bothered he just wanted a cheap nippy family car

its not ripping off it will last for months and months

The really worrying thing is you just dont seem to get it.

You sold as specifically NOT having a fault which it did have, that's a rip off!

As for lasting months - who cares? As I said above, most people keep cars for years, not weeks or months so all it does is make sure you're in the clear

yes like i said i buy a car keep it for a couple of months then get shut

most the time i make a couple of hundred quid profit

i also have a full time job, im a fully qualified electrician, also going back to college to do electrical engineering,

i am by no means an idiot as some may think
