If so, doesn't that mean that he's breaking the law selling that Octavia as he advertised? I'm sure it isn't allowed to sell a car as a trader knowing there's a problem and not declaring it, especially disguising it.

There's going to be something that makes that car worth what it was sold for.
Value is really only what someone is willing to pay for it - you were willing to pay 1200 and nobody else was willing to pay higher. Thus, it's worth 1200 quid. Maybe other buyers spotted something you've missed, I dont know.
People don't tend to sell cars for less than they're worth - would be like me selling my Mondeo for a grand because I wanted a quick sale.
Its inevitably going to blow up like all the other cars

I havn't ruinied it i have the receipt for ECP and will stamp the service book myself
There'll probably be some clause where you don't have to say unless you've been asked specifically.![]()

Its not like its gonna go bang after a week, it just used too much oil for my liking and smoked for a while on a cold morning
The skoda was just wear and tear it wanted a new turbo thats all
2003 SKODA OCTAVIA VRS 1.8T 210 BHP GOLF GTI LEON
IMMACULATE CONDITION MUST BE SEEN ONE OF THE BEST!!!!!!
The car has never used a drop of oil which is the sign of a good turbo

As a car trader (since he palms off so many bangers) should he be paying tax on the profit?
I pay 650 a year for TPFT insurance and can swap it as much as i want just go online takes 2 mins
That said selling a car privatley or trading a car in to a dealer with a known fault in my eyes isn't much different is it ? Your still passing on the problem to someone else.
This has put me off BMWs for some reason... maybe an Audi is the way to go.
