new car.....

Id love a DC2 aswell, so theres annother on to put on the list Im partial to a bit o V-tech so theres annothe to add to the list. think Im in double figures on options now!

Don't get a clio! If you want something realy fun to drive go for the MX-5, if you want something classy with toys which feels well built get the BMW. Clio's just well, French! (no offence anyone!)

:D

For double figures you could get a 330ci or a DC5 or a or a ! ..

Far to many cars about that are tempting for that price. I to nearly spent £10K on a car but decided to just allow myself to spend the amount I had saved up (£7K) so I didn't have to take out a loan.

That's a very late one - £7,000 would bring that home.

There's been a few DC5's on autotrader over the last few months around the £10k mark.

Needless to say they've all been Cat D's or utter bags of ****.

Looks just like mine this one ;)

Finished in metallic Radiant Ebony with a black interior, this car is fitted with exterior chrome kit, interior wood kit, power steering, twin air bags, upgraded 16" alloy wheels, ABS, central locking, cloth hood, aluminium kit, K&N induction kit, electric mirrors, electric windows and wind deflector. It is in superb condition and is a beautiful looking car. It has covered just 14000 miles with full service history. Genuine UK car.

Pain to keep clean but so so worth it :)

146 BHP 0-60 in 7.7.

that is gorgeous(ITR) and the Mx5 is very nice 2 (if riding a bit high), very tempted. The 328CI is also an option as it would be £926 a year. your right, I may better off spending less. I think its 328/mx5/DC2/200sx... oh god I have no idea what I want! I still have a soft spot for clio 182's but now fancy a rear driver. why cant an MX5 be a little more manly and be more like 160/180 bhp then it would be a no-brainer.

Its not cheap 2k ish, i think a turbo can be done for less but the cheap kits are just that, cheap.

The MX5 lump was designed from the start to take forced induction, mazda released two turbo models i think, both in very limited numbers.

Best 0-60 i've managed is 7.5 - Book time is 7.7 thats with the 140Bhp 1.8, with 200Bhp it must be sub 7 seconds perhaps 6.5.

Tuning costs loads, better to get the power to begin with.

Depends, you could get a big car with a big engine that handels like a boat, or a fantastic balanced car (ITR or MX5) that you can upgrade and grow into, you learn about the car and its just more fun imho.

Depends on your driving habits I guess. I use the motorway everyday so handling is secondary to power and torque.

Friend of mine sold his MR2 turbo which was very quick and bought an MX5.
Now he hasnt got enough power and he wants to spend another few grand supercharging the MX5. Madness!

You want a car that's fun. Now the DC2 and the MX5 are both fun - but in different ways. The DC2 is fun if you like hardcore, it's rough.

The MX5 is fun if you like top down motoring (that's everyone btw), superb balance and refined handling.

Then again you might think that classy is fun. In which case take the BMW.

The BMW I could get bored of real quick. The DC2 or MX5 will keep you entertained for years.

Yea i agree, my normal route home takes me on the motorway for 20 miles, but when i take the 5 into work i go the country routes :)

That particular example is strange he must have a reason for changing, but that much loss of power must hurt tbh its a huge diff.

thats not strictly true, the engine is very over engineered and takes to fi very well (you can usually run about 200 at the wheels fine without problems if setup properly) however this is more due to the jap's tendency to over engineer engines. The factory turbo models were actually strengthened even more to take the extra power, and even then they were pretty conservative with it, taking them upto about 160-180 iirc

The supercharger kit that was in evo is a hotside mp62 putting about 200 at the wheels and costing around £3k The turbo kits are cheaper, but again your looking at about £2k atleast to get a decent one. However you can quite easily pick up a decent 5 for 7-8k so you could buget it in. But again its the cost of insurance that you want to look out for
