Yea i agree, my normal route home takes me on the motorway for 20 miles, but when i take the 5 into work i go the country routes :)

That particular example is strange he must have a reason for changing, but that much loss of power must hurt tbh its a huge diff.

Well, he isnt unhappy though - he loves the MX5. He went to a trackday at Silverstone and wrecked some new Proxys. :D But he said the MX was outhandling everything except the Ariel Atoms. :D

DC2 Integra in Milano red would be my choice, though CW isn't to be sniffed at.

OK, the comment about BMW getting boring quick may rear its head. I think the MX5 would look good with some nicer 16"ers and some new dampners /springs to lower without spoiling then it would look a lot better. The turbo would be an option if I felt I needed more. The DC2 would be enough anyway and I like Vtecs, my mate has a stripped seam welded civic VTI track car with an integra engine and 1500 quids worth of suspension. now that shifts and handles like nothing I have ever been in(on Toyo R888 semi slicks). So I think those 2 are winning at the mo. Both should be reliable, running costs not too high. One's got no roof and is well balanced, one is absolutely mental and has a roof. hmmmm Plenty to think about. Open to new offers! lol

but then at the same time

mines running on 16s with a lower profile tyre, you can get 18s into the arches afaik but you really start messing with the handeling. You can also drop it quite allot if you get decent spring kits, but tbh i'm totally happy with the suspension on mine, as its the sport it comes with nicer shocks etc anyhows.

as for "plastic jap stuff" i thought you were mature enough to not result to silly name calling fox :p :)

edit: oh and if you have it down to a couple of cars why not get out and test drive a few :)

I'm sure that's what every BMW driver says as they console themselves after getting butt ****** by a plastic jap car.

"Ah, he's pulling away, ah well - not to worry, doesn't count cos I've got 6 cyclinders and dampened grab handles".

LOL! :D

Agree with the test driving situation, oh and get rid of the orange, its offensive to the silver, i have a similar problem :(

This is a 99v 1.8is running 15" Mazda wheels, might change for 16" sport wheels, i can't physically lower my car cause then i can't get it onto my drive but it looks fine as it is imho, from the side you don't see much of a gap.

looks really really good in black.

i love the look of them with the hard top on aswell

You can un-girl them if you're that bothered. You'll forgot any preconceptions when you drive it sans-roof anyway. I love this example of a MK1

I think seeing that in black may have sold it for me. I like the idea of having no roof, But then theres the DC2 which would scratch a totally different itch. They both should hold good money to. hmmm These can be got cheaper and cost less to keep on the road than the beemer, dont fall to bits like the clio, arent french and should hold their money. so its roof handleing and power, vs no roof handleing and balance is it?
Can I phone a friend?

Take a test drive in both and decide. Which one you choose you'll be
buying a great car either way

i wouldn't say the teg has any worse ballance than the 5 at all, they are regarded as one of the best handeling FWD cars around for a reason :) But they are allot rawer than the 5, and fwd (which is no bad thing, just depends on your preferance)

Damn, I have to admit that is cool

lol, the beemer would be lovely, but I think the mx5 and IR would keep me entertaind for longer. Not sure. If they both had roof's it would be the ITR for sure, but the idea of a 2 seater drop top sounds good!

Why? The BMW is a rear wheel drive, Straight Six Coupe, built properly with 50/50 weight distribution. If you'd get bored of that but not an FWD Integra.. hmmmm.... ;)

I love the way everyone seems to think the BMW is some sort of a dull, boring, sensible choice.

Errr, hello? It's a 200bhp RWD Coupe which will do 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. It's far from boring, dull or sensible.

It's easy.

If you are ugly get the DC2.
If you are pretty get the MX5.

If you're going to get a BMW wait till you can afford an M ;)
