New computer build.

Hey Ollie, thanks for your response. Hope you are ok :) I will do that first then and see what happens. Going to do it tommorow now and I will post on here what the result is.

Thanks again :)

One other thing, it is okay to do this even though I have not overclocked my processor? I just want to check for stability, but whenever I read about prime people always talk about overclocking.

Thanks just don't want to set fire to my rig! :D

I am running the in place large fft test now. I left it on 4 torture test threads. Do I just stop in 1 hour then? Or does it stop itself or something?

Thanks guys, sorry I am a noob at this.

Okay so I have now run the test for over 1 hour, this is the temps and the print screen of prime. I am not really sure what I need to be looking for on prime exactly. All of the self tests such as 448k etc have come back as passed. I have left the test running. What do you guys think? Do I need to copy something else from prime for you to check for me?

Sorry about the small picture.

Thanks :)

Hey, thanks for the response :)

I think this is 100% for all cores here is print screen of it:

And yes I have the hyper 212, not too sure what you mean about the noise and 200rpm? But to me its not that bad at all just listening to it. Bearing in mind I do have 1 side of the case off still because I still do not have cable managment done! Wanted to make sure the tests all pass first :P

Should I just keep prime running now?

Thanks :)

EDIT: Just seen what your update says, is prime going to find any problems after say 5 hours? Might just leave on till I go to sleep. With the clock speeds in HWmonitor how do I find this out? Is this necessary bearing in mind I have not overclocked?

Right well I ended it anyway, decided if it hasn't found any problems now its not going to find any! Here is the final max temps and prime results:

Now I need to run memtest for memory tommorow and 3dmark for graphics card :)

Thanks!

I doubt you'll find stability issues at stock. That's when you start overclocking and increasing Vcore and other voltage tweaks. At least you can say the temps at stock look good.

The memory is worth testing though. Checking the timings, speed, voltages, and giving it a good run. Memory unlikely to change when you overclock (Don't change the BCLK), so once should do it. Maybe once more at the end when you're happy with a stable overclock.

Thanks for the response. And yes they do seem fine which I am happy about :) With testing the memory, I have just started running memtest86. Do I just let it boot and leave it? Or do I need to change any settings at all? Also how long should I leave it running for? Sorry I have no idea!

Plus I am not overclocking the memory or any other components, not sure if you realise that or not Ollie? I think you are just saying if I was to?

Thanks :)

This is what is happening straight from boot, I have not changed anything. Does everything look ok?

Ok here is updated memtest, looks more like my system but is this all I do? Just leave it?

Thanks guys

EDIT: Also just decided I am going to download v4.20 as it is the latest version and seems to have everything included.

Looks good. CAS Could use some tightening. Memtest will take ages to complete with 8GB. Leave it overnight. If you got red on screen, then it's time to worry :)

Thanks for the response. I haven't started the test properly yet but just wanted to make sure first. Also you said the CAS could use some tightening, to be honest I didn't really want to do any tweaking/overclocking but do you think I really should? Should I run the memory test before I make any changes (if I do) to check for stability?

Many thanks! :)

Ok so connected up to internet, and have results. However 3dmark says that my result is low compared to others. This is what I have, including temperatures:

Is there some kind of problem? I have selected improve and it has told me that my gpu driver is old, so I have scanned to find another one. Should I update then run again?

Thanks :)

Just run again and got P4311 3D marks with updated driver. It still says that it is low compared to similar systems. Is it because it says that my graphics card driver is not approved? Or is it something else?

Thanks

EDIT: Should I use MSI afterburner and adjust something?
