** NEW CORSAIR LCS OFFERINGS AT OCUK **

So, if I change the fans (preferably to SP120s) and don't install the link software, I should be good to go? If it works like that then I can wait for Corsair to sort the software out later on and just live with fewer/no fan options?

Yep, this is what i plan to do.
Just that gives no control over the colour of the Corsair badge. Though maybe if i install the Link software, set the colour then uninstall it, that should work, no?

As long as it works, i'll install and just sit on it until the software's sorted. I can play with colours etc later. I'm not sure the logo wouldn't reset to default if you uninstall the link software? Purely a guess though.

I would assume the logo would stay the same colour once software is removed, the utility would just tell the firmware the colour code and that's it.
Otherwise on boot it would be it's default colour until the software loads and changes it to your settings. Just sounds silly to me.

Yes the colour of the logo does stay the same colour it was set at in the control link software once its uninstalled, updating the firmware will set it back to the factory default colour too.

When the unit is first installed the logo is white, well it was on my H80i.

Cheers all

OMG worst day ever! I tried to install my H80i and though ok I have everything and started to install....the problems began when I tried to mount the fans to the radiator. I could NOT MOUNT THESE FANS?!! No matter how many times I tried the screws were not mounting. Something is wrong with the radiator for mounting. every single screw wouldn't mount. It just keep turning and turning and wouldn't tighten.:(:(:(:mad::mad:

I've been doing everything I could to mount these screws and they didn't! I even went to maplins to find longer screws ( Everyone there was retarded and didn't even know what I was talking about.) so after 7 hours of trying to mount the fans I gave up. wtf corsair!! I want one that WORKS!!!

Since I bought this through OCUK do I return it back to them? I want one that'll mount properly. I'm so angry at how this day has gone:mad::mad:

M8 I feel for you. After all the initial worries were put to rest something like this? Must admit it's the first I've heard of this issue.

I don't believe this...

I've received the new SP120 fans today and just attempted to fit them, and 2 of the 4 screw holes on the radiator have totally sheared/cross threaded when I tried to screw them back in! The 2 screws literally now just go straight through the holes with no pressure what so ever. I did not even attempt to overtighten them at all and they just totally gave way. I reckon that the rubber inners on the SP120 fans may have something to do with it as I've noticed it adds a bit of pressure when applied.

So now because I this I have had to move the H80i radiator block upside down so that it does not hang/rest slanted when in it's original position.

Could this be some sort of manufacturer defect and do you guys reckon that Corsair would honour an RMA/replacement request??

Edit - after typing this and looking at RetrogamerX's post, it seems that we may have a similar problem. I also purchased my H80i directly from OcUK and it's only a week old

Thanks all - Liam

That's exactly what's happened to mine.

This cooler has ruined my day. It's all 4 threads on my radiator where screws just go right through. This is a piece of crap. I want a new one where thread's work properly. I wasted a whole day on this thing.

I need 5UB to help me on this one. All I want is a working H80i. I've spent nearly £100 on something that was delivered broken:(

I'm so mad I could scream:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Let us know how you get on with 5UB mate.

I'm tempted to consult him / raise an RMA with my H80i problem too but I think that I will have to go directly to Corsair about it as I've got no chance that I can return it to OcUK under the DSR now that it has a fault with it.

I gave OCUK the money so they should take the return and replace it.

My replacement H100i is working perfect. I have updated the firmware then uninstalled the awful Corsair software and run my fans direct from the motherboard.

No issues with screw mounts and I have swapped out the fans a few times in testing. Only issue for me is the light on mine is a slight off white/blue colour rather than a preferable pure white but hey ho it works...
