how much heat in watts can these coolers deal with? I'm set on a noctua D14 for my CPU but i'm very interested in using a H80i to cool my *GPU* when i get it as it may enable me to run a higher end GPU than i had planned to, or run the GPU i had planned to get overclocked but quietly

I'm building in a pretty small micro ATX case so i've got one rear 120mm extract fan to cool an i5 3570k and the GPU (plus 1 120mm intake of course). The idea i had was to put the radiator on that exhaust fan hole and then use the Noiseblocker Multiframe P PWM (2.8-2.9mm h2o) fans on the H80i rad - just moving the GPU heat out of the case so my other temps can stay nice and low.. i'd even thought of running it single fan if i could get away with it

GPU is to be a HD7870.. any thoughts? I'm looking at this for low GPU temps and quietness within the small case i have.. also.. how suitable are these units for 24/7 usage? if it wont last 4-5yrs 24/7 i'd be better with a heatsink

I've been running Prime95 overnight on the new PC and i'm pretty pleased with the H100i. Using the Balanced preset and the Gentle Typhoons I never went past the high 50's over a 12 hour run, admittedly the vcore i'm using is only 1.25 but still good I reckon.

Bit of an update for you guys

H80i and H100i are both out of stock.

We have no eta on either of them at this moment in time.

I am trying to reach my Corsair sales manager this morning to get an explaination.

will update when I find out more.

In the meantime, I would suggest looking at the Intel or Antec LSC systems.

Well, there is a supply shortage in general.

I will of course post what is going on as soon as I know.

Right,

This is the official word from corsair

Both H80i/H100i have had stock delays as we sold far more than forecast

we are looking at stock arriving possibly before christmas. but i cannot guarantee it.

Don't they mean they've RMAed more than forecast lol.

Seriously, how much of they're stock has been sent out as replacements? We'll never know the answer, but I'll wager it has had an effect.

Sorry to hear that you guys still have no ETA for new stock of the H80i/H100i's, I had no other option but to cancel the H100i from my recent order as I really need a cooler to get my rig back up and running :(

It sounds like the delay could be down to Corsair themselves, and I wouldn't be surprised either if it is because they have had to replace so many faulty H80i/H100i units with brand new ones directly from the factory.

As for the problems we've been reading about it seems to me Corsair made hardware changes during production which they will never admit to.
That would explain the 3 main faults;
1. Grinding noise from the fans/pump which changes to a whine after the firmware update.
2. Units that die with the firmware update.
3. Units that refuse to control the fans properly.

knew that post would come in handy ;)

also - Incompatibily between the Link software and intel's RSTe drivers 3.5.0 and later
and an incompatibilty between the Link software and a popular USB keyboard (G24 methinks)

*edit*

Not forgetting incompatibilty with Windows 8 and the Link software

RetrogamerX had a bad experience with his first unit, but the replacement was totally fine. Other than that we're all waiting now for a firmware update to address the noise issue.
We're lucky that we can turn the fans down and still keep good temps.

Is the H55 enough for a moderate OC on a 2500k?

I'm using a Silver Arrow at the moment but mistakenly thought i needed it when i bought the i5 (overclocking was essential as well as fun before sandybridge), had it at 4.8 for a while when i first built the PC but set it to 4.4 the last time i reseated it and realised i don't realy need the high OC's (at least not paired with a 7850). Plus its annoying the hell outta me with how much space it takes up, i'm buying a 500R case to replace an antec 300 so the inside is both tidier and roomier so i'm thinking closed loop to replace the SA would be a good idea to go with it.

Looking at the prices it seems h55 or h100i are the choices, h80i is too close in cost to the h100 to make sense. Temps on the cpu have always been silly low even when it was at 4.8. I don't want to buy more than i need this time like i did with the SA hence the question.
