** NEW CORSAIR LCS OFFERINGS AT OCUK **

Got myself a H100i last weekend, so its only been a few days, but so far its been great. Its reduced temps from the previous noctua by 35°, allowing me to push my OC by another 400Mhz and turn HT on while still getting lower temps than before. But after reading some of the posts here I'll be keeping a close eye on it. Link works fine though, no problems at all with it so far, its quiet even with the bundled fans.

Yes. My i7 920 @ 3.4 GHz with 1.35 vcore was running ~85°C under prime with HT off, as soon as I fitted the H100i it dropped by 35°. Now its at 3.8 GHz with HT on and running prime at ~65°. Whats bizarre for me is that I've also been able to run this higher OC at lower voltages, 1.275 atm, so I think maybe re-seating the CPU during the cooler change has had some effect.

Yeah something was not right with it, probably bad seating. Either way though the new cooler has made a big difference to my system.

Or air cooler exhaust was not being removed from case and mixing with air in case and making everything hotter.

Main thing is all is cool now.

The firmware update (1.0.4) has been taken down by corsair because of the USB issues I mentioned before on these forums. Even if you find a copy I do not recommend updating with it.

The fact Corsair have taken it down tells us 2 things:
1. It is unstable
2. Newer, fixed firmware will arrive shortly.

For now put the fans on mobo headers or a fan controller.

Keep ya fingers crossed, won't be so long now.

We campaigned for at least 2 months for Corsair to take it down. Finally they've done it.

Ah I see, thanks for the heads up Rip. I'll try the fans on the mobo headers later today.

By the way I don't suppose you know a way to deal with threaded holes on the rad do you? I managed to thread one of four holes mounting the back fan to the rad :(.

They've even replace the Link 2.2.1 with 2.2.0.

Which I find a bit bizarre as I have 2.2.1 and it works fine.

lol I ended up plugging the fans into the motherboard headers instead but it looks like I can't control the speed for 3pin fans on cpu headers! They now go at 2100rpm+ constantly :p

I can't hear any more grind though!

You need to set the cpu fan controller to use voltage instead of PWM. There is usually an option in the bios if it is supported on your board.

No can do on this mobo as far as I've seen :(.

Apart from the horrible noise of the fans this h80i is really letting me work on this 2500k. I can't even break 60c with 1.39vcore :p (new prime95 with AVX).
