New CPU not working with upgrade

I watched a video about the same motherboard as mine, so I used the non-beta bios, used the msi mflash to do it, waited the full time for everything to download and stuff like that so I think I done it correctly
Looking at the CPU compatibility list there are 2 x 5800X, one is B0 stepping and the other is newer B2.

If you have the B2 you will need the latest beta bios.

Well if it's still not working you may as well try the beta bios.

It does say on the CPU compatibility list that you need the latest beta bios for the B2 version.

If this works you can confirm what CPU you have with CPUZ.

Just got round to changing the bios, I'm 100% certain I done it correctly. I installed the new cpu and all the fans are running but there's no picture being displayed and the light on the motherboard is on for the cpu.

do you have your old cpu?
if you do, pop that back in
if the pc boots with the old cpu then the bios update has taken
if the pc does not boot with the old cpu then you've messed up the bios update and have to do it again

The pc boots with the old cpu. I feel like I'm running out of options

Dead cpu and or psu. I have a faulty psu and it wouldn’t boot and just gave cpu led on board.
It it boots with your old cpu… so dead cpu
Next time I'm at my friend's house I'm gonna try it in his pc as he has the same cpu, if it doesn't work then I'll send it back. Is there any other way to test for a dead cpu

nope, other than with a known working system.
from what you've told us, there's no reason to suspect your computer isn't fully working...so i would highly suggest you go ahead to RMA it straight away (esp if it's a used part...the longer you delay the higher the chance the seller can get away with selling a defective part)

I just noticed a slightly bent pin I'll get a photo, how can this be fixed

Does it fit snuggly into the mobo or is it sticking out slightly?
The CPU should sit into the socket without any force applied.
I haven't been putting any pressure when seating it, I've been bringing it as low as I can and then letting it seat itself, and I've only been lifting it straight up when removing it

thats something that just happened as you would have struggled to put it in the socket.
use a back card in the pin row to genteelly move it back.

can i ask when you got the CPU from and was the box fully sealed?
there is a well known amazon CPU swap scam
