New crysis vid

It'd be great if all games did this with the level of interactivity as well as the tasty graphics. No way I'll be enjoying this anytime soon though :( (unless it comes on the 360).
 
Mmmm... That looks good! I just hope the gameplay lives up to the engine. If thats running on DX9 hardware imagine what it will be like with DX10 hardware! Also if they've managed to create an engine that looks that good and runs on todays hardware then it doesn't say a lot for other game developers whos engines don't look half as good and still struggle to run on some hardware.

Anyone got any idea on a release date?
 
It all looks very nice and i am looking forward to it but does anyone eles feel the tree's seem to be abit of a gimick as they was falling in 1 or 2 bullet hits and some times they looked as they was breaking with out a direct aim at them but from him just spraying the bullets from left to right.

It would be interesting to see the Pyshics being used a lot more like they was used in Half Life 2 as it was'nt just about blowing stuff up in HF2 as you have to manipulate something to proceed in a level which was great fun.
 
All direct x 9, apart from the special dx10 vids, tbh dx10 only looks marginally better/different in comparison.


In one vid the AI uses the tress, shoots one down and makes it land on the players jeep while hes driving it, thus putting the jeep out of action. I think if this is just an early representation of the playable engine, a lot more use will be put into the physics area. Also, the mods that will be made for the game, now has countless possibilities!

I think the modding abilities could be awsome with this game and may even be greater than dare i say it Half Life 2.

Would be nice to get a playable demo if you ask me ;)
 
Wouldn't you need like some sort of super computer the play that game, i mean in the HD video the game looks choppy.

As for a playable demo i don't think my pc could handle it :D
 
I think your pc would handle it. Maybe Low to Medium settings, but it will play :)
I'd love a demo too. Even if it's just the buggy version shown at E3... I just wanna play it and cut down some trees!
 
This looks exceedingly good. I can't remember being this impressed by a vid since the STALKER: Oblivion Lost trailer from summer 2002, or maybe even the Duke Nukem Forever vid from e3 1998.

Yeah its DX9, its running on an X1900, couldn't see it properly what with the pixellation, and poor quality, but looked awesome, ill spend me time just shooting trees down. :D

That guy "he wants to drive to". :D
