New Dell IPS S2721DGF 165hz gaming monitor

Sent you invoice with the price on so you can get a price match.... Anyone wanting a Dell I'm pretty sure my m8 is keeping his omen over the Dell, he's offering it to his brother, but if he doesn't want it either he's going to send it back, so maybe a chance of one of you people waiting for a Dell might want it? Obviously he will want what he paid for it.

Hi I may be interested can you message me please thank you

LG is hooked up now.

I am still using it on the default colour profile, certian things look ok, but reds are definitely over powering so I will be doing some tinkering. Whether thats sRGB mode or what others have managed to tune themselves.

I now finally have a proper working display port, some may remember posts from me on my older benq it behaved odd, and now it works properly.

I much prefer the joystick system vs the buttons on my benq.

Viewing angle is not as good as my benq, I have had to increase the distance to screen to compensate so the sides look ok.

I prefer big time plugging in cables at a 90 degree angle vs how most monitors are where you have to push up, my custom stand which swivels, makes this way easier as well.

I spent ages sourcing a travel adaptor which has proper earth, as I believe amazon/ebay are rife with dangerous chinese whitelabel adaptors.

Initially the series S looked odd displayed on my monitor (ps4 pro would have as well), screen kept going on and off, and corruption with green lines, however was using an old hdmi cable which was probably 1.4, replaced it with the hdmi cable that came with the monitor and now is ok. (old cable was fine on benq as on that it was actually been fed at 1440p downscaled by capture device).

The fact the monitor supports 4k input has made things interesting, it basically means now if I downscale 4k content, its more effort to not do the downscaling on the display, if the display uses a cheap nearest neighbour algorithm which it probably does it might mean inferior looking downscaled games, trial and error is needed to see how this will work out, I will know if the monitor is doing the scaling by checking the osd reported resolution. Also I can no longer make a 5120x2880 custom resolution. Windows reports display doesnt support it, worked fine on the benq.

120hz desktop is interesting, but I get more ghost cursors when moved fast so I prefer 60hz desktop.

Agreed Dell and it's staff are some of the worst I've come across. I cancelled my Dell they are a waste of time. My m8 who ordered his on the 15th November got his today, but because he had no trust in it ever coming he ordered himself and me a omen 27i that has the same screen, we're both very happy with it and he isn't even keeping the dell now, gonna send it back to them as they don't deserve anyone's money the way they carry on.
If any of you want a price match for the omen 27i at the India food place it's £499 but I can give u a invoice so its matched at £359 if it helps any of you guys out waiting on Dell's crap service. If the Dell's the one for you and you don't mind waiting till who knows when good luck.

I sent u DM

Don't get your hopes up yet. In theory hp had to have the monitor in stock and with that price to use the price match and you can't even send the picture with the invoice, only the link to the site. In practice who know maybe some stupid guy falls for it, I hope so as well.

I sent a picture of the invoice as proof for mine and they accepted it, if not use the rain forest for a price match, they have them at £399

maybe its pot luck who u get, nothing to stop you trying multiple times.

I know they differ because I used them for a price match on the Dell, the first person came back and agreed the price match and gave me a code , then a a day later from my other form it came back and they refused??? so they are a bit clueless I think

Well the queue just went down by one, just cancelled after realising dont need to wait until monday for a rep to do it.

A bit more on the LG, I tuned the gamer1 profile to be almost sRGB, still not sure if I will keep that or just use sRGB mode the sRGB mode is a god send, as its great to flip in and out of it to see how accurate things are, and I may just use it, the reason I am giving gamer1 mode a chance, is that sRGB doesnt let you choose overdrive mode and some other options.

Also on the blacks, I feel the reviewers, especially rtings have over played it, blacks in content are good enough that they dont seem gray to me. Their camera shows are definitely much lighter vs the blacks I see on my scree, either they took photos on 100 brightness, or their camera is using extra exposure.

This is the stand I am using.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B089GW8YJK/

It does hold the weight fine, tilting hold position, swivel is great, the base is glass on top layer, so feels high quality. There is a holder on the support pillow for the alan keys for adjustments, so they always handily placed, and most importantly it isnt 19 inches wide like the LG base, it is 9 inches instead. However the depth of the base, is a bit big, but overall much more desk space friendly than the LG base. It comes with 4 types of screws to account for manufacturer differences. Also my LG came without the LG stand attached, so I didnt have to remove a stock stand first. There is a decorative bit of plastic that goes at base of pillow (can see in picture with stars on it), but I didnt use it as it did look out of place, otherwise its great.

I took a picture of my monitor with a black screen and it looked extremely different to my naked eye view.

In the picture I could see light reflection, wasnt visible at all directly.
In the picture I could see my shadow, to the naked eye the monitor wasnt light enough to be visible.

Then the big one, I looked at the picture on my screen with a black area around it and the difference was significant. So basically cameras been used to show black levels are very misleading. To me the black's are fine. Should be fine for anyone who is used to IPS already.

I should definitely have got 2 of these at once for £280 each. Now I have a 23" 1080p vertical, a 27" 1440p horizontal, and a 23" 1080p horizontal monitor in a triple screen setup.

I am very happy with this monitor for PC and Xbox use. My non-UK store will have 250 more in stock on 24 December for that price so I might just pick up another one.

You're cruel to not reiterate each time that you're not in the UK!
