There's a voice that keeps on calling me.
The UK motoring public see’s the likes of Old Ford’s, dross from BL stables, even Vauxhalls as classics, despite the fact that most cars were dog poo from that era, Escort was rubbish really even the XR3i. Metro’s and Marina’s are loved by many. Hell I’ve got a 86 Corolla 1.3 parked up at the moment, it’s seen as a classic by some, I was offered 3k for it a while back. Classics are not classics because they were good, it’s just we have some emotional connection to the piles of junk that we grew up with

on the ev weight argument - everyone knows how their ICE handles when you have four adults up, versus solo commute to work - everything changes for the worse -
momentum when braking, corners, roundabouts - the enjoyment is reducedgone, more engine power doesn't compensate,
maybe renault have cracked that problem with the R5 though (wegovy)

read an interesting thread on electronic rear view mirrors today, as in polestar3 & renault e-tech - they don't work if you wear varifocals as their focus doesn't match the far distance (my) glasses expect,
which is a bit like the huds that wouldn't work with (my) polarised sunglasses.

High up weight is rather different to battery weight !

Weight is weight. You can have a low center of gravity, but the momentum is still there with all that mass and it still has a big impact on everything and you feel it.

Back to the OP... presumably you are not looking or a crossover/SUV? If that's the case your options are more limited if you want a fast car.

Hard to go wring with the Tesla Model 3 LR, it just depends on how much they are on SS as prices vary considerably. Polestar 2 LR DM is another, I wouldn't worry about the performance versions, both the normal dual motor long range versions are more than capable in their own rights.

Imagine cars were tuned based on two occupants!

You read too much.

Probably worth waiting for the Born VZ that looks very promising. My cupra is slow to 30 due to the limited power but once rolling more than fast enough, the handling dynamics set it apart from other EVs. The i pace is the only one more dynamic.

I mean the ~2000 miles I did in 2 model 3 long range, I thought they were great in a straight line but wooden brakes and both wouldn’t hold a line on a bend meant there was a feeling of being a passenger even behind the steering wheel. Maybe the motors are too fast for the car around them ? They were earlier ones with terrible ride (and squeezing suspension on both too).

The born comes together as one nice package and it’s night and day compared to the ID3. Relatively Fun to drive without needing to be silly fast to get sales

I already suggested that but was told it's not fast enough.

I am probably missing some but..... brand new I can only think of 2 4 second 0-60 brand new cars in price bracket. the Volvo EX30 and the MG4 xpower both of which were ruled out.
