Using VLC, it's alright, does the job and has an equaliser. Certainly room for improvement however, but like most apps a so called improvement would just end up just as bloated crap anyway.
 
Is there a app that will unlock my Tablet when I add a WiFi network. Smart Lock doesn't work well and my Tablet hasn't got routines as it's a old 2016 Tablet.

Tried Niagra which was't my cup of tea, then the Microsoft launcher which spent more time trying to get me to log in with my MS account than it didn't showing me features or functionality

I've been testing some more over the weekend due to this. Niagara is interesting but I prefer the classic style launcher. Lawnchair 14 Beta 2 still lacks a lot of customisation options. Action launcher is close, but it asks for storage permissions so it can use the wallpaper for material you colours, but for some reason doesn't appear in the app's permission list (which I don't think it even needs for it to work). There was a few others I remember testing as well back when Branch bought Nova (Ruthless, Neo, etc.), but they haven't been updated since then.

I might just try get used to Niagara if Nova starts messing up, the developer for that is very active and listens to their community.

Edit: Bought the Niagara pro license since I already used the trial a while back, but there's some genuine handy features that makes the move more comfortable. Nova I had a mess of widgets. Niagara I can do widget stacks which actually makes things more tidy.

Only just noticed the Simple apps were sold to an ad company (according to comments on their Github). I was using Simple Gallery and noticed it was missing from F-Droid. It has been forked though as Fossify, and exporting my settings from Simple and importing to Fossify worked just fine.

This home launcher caught my eye, it's still in beta and missing some features, but it looks like it's building up to be a potential Nova replacement: https://www.reddit.com/r/OctopiLauncher/
 
Anyone know if you can change the reset time for apps you've put a usage timer on? I don't mean reset today's usage, what I mean is change the time it considers as a new day? It's totally useless for me when I use an app only over the 11pm/midnight time, as the app time resets half way through usage and so now my "30 minutes" usage timer ends up being say 50 minutes with 20 minutes used from 11.40pm to midnight, and then reset.

Ideally I want it to reset at 10pm
 
Maybe an odd one, but is there any app that I can use to check who characters are in a book, movie or TV show?

I use 'Smart Audiobook Player' and it has a button for adding characters and some comments about them and I thought it would be handy if there was an app just for this, that everyone might populate?

Maybe it would get messy with TV shows that have different characters each week...

IMbd for tv and movies but not sure about books side of things
 
Basic to moderate functioning image editor? Been using Pixlr, Snapseed, Piktures etc. for a while now but I've never really stuck to any one in particular... I only need to be able to crop, resize and add text/highlight.

Thoughts? I don't mind paying a one-off but I'm not doing any more subs :D
