New essential Android apps thread

Is there a driving camera App that records say 15 – 2 second capture on a loop.
There have been a few near miss idiot drivers and video clips will help with any potential accidents ! ?

Chrome removed a bunch of buttons I use to a menu and now Google have decided that hangouts no longer requires a tablet interface and also made Avatars round whilst leaving the rest of the interface square.

GG Google GG

These changes are ready for Android L. Most of Google's websites are now using the circle avatars.

Has anyone tried the Hangouts Dialler yet? What does it do? Is it basically free calling to other Hangouts users, so something like O2's TuGo (but obviously with the limitation of Hangouts users).
It's just an extension for the Hangouts App that adds a phone tab allowing you to choose to dial using your network or data. I imagine it'll be part of Android L when it's released and become quite popular / more commonly used.

Im looking for an app that can globally change permisions.

eg allow, deny or ask on permissions. Say al that want to access my location or anyother permision.

I have an HTC M8, I can do it individually per app. But that could take a long time.

TIA

:o Can't believe I'd never heard of the Daydream feature before - with Dashclock it's bloody brilliant - one of my favourite things about WP8.1 was having Glance while the phone was on the wireless charger but this seems to be just as good :p

Searched the thread and couldn't find anything on this - I wanted to be able to Cast music and videos from my Note 3 without having to transfer it to my PC first, so after much trawling I found MediaCast:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.musicmind.paid&hl=en

It did what many other apps couldn't do (at least IME) and found my Chromecast with no hassle, connected and could Cast videos, music and images with no problems. For just over £2 I thought it was a bargain. Very easy to use and so far no issues at all.

Google Play Music and Photos does something similar but you need to first have your music and photos/videos uploaded/synced/backed up to the cloud.

Yeah - I was trawling the web for a solution and this kept coming up. I kept trying and all I getting was some error message, turns out that the music had to be 'online' - which I then found out had to be uploaded to Google Music. I found that so strange that it just couldn't Cast the media which I already had locally on my phone, but I had to upload it to Google first

This app just cut all that out and Casts straight from my device. Wonderful!
