Fair enough, I tried 4 or 5 different casting apps with no luck and was tearing my hair out. Looking at my app history I didn't try either of these, but incidentally Allcast looks very very similar to MediaCast.
In any case, it's a decent app and works great
Big Allcast user here, highly recommend it.
Has anyone ever run into a situation where google now won't accept voice reminders? I have to click add remidner to get it to work now. Only thing i can think of it that i enabled this in desktop chrome last night but that really shouldn't affect it.
EDITTTTT: Reset where my locations are set to (home, work etc...) fixed it.
EDITTTTTTT 2: Leo's Fortune is on sale for £2, you should buy this. It's fantastic.

bubbleupnp can do local casting as well as media server/cloud. best.

seriesguide has a dashclock plugin so shows next show aired. it also has a widget that shows upcoming or recent shows in your list.
For the record, TV Show Favs was decided to be better 
It's definitely between these two though. Try them both, take your pick. Does Seriesguide not sync at all?! Wow, that's huge for me, definite deal breaker.

SeriesGuide does sync, I used to use it on both my phone and tablet and it'd stay current on both. I did have it linked to Trakt for that purpose though but there is an experimental cloud sync option too.
I've never used TV Show Favs so I can't really comment on it, but I've also never felt the need to use another app; SeriesGuide seems to cover everything I need.

This just a clone of Link Bubble, which has more features... but doesn't seem to be as smooth as Flynx

Does anyone have a recommendation for a news widget that supports scroll?
In particular I want it to skinnable/themeable and support feedly. Using the Simple RSS Widget but it's a bit clunky and slow.

Trying out the new Nokia Here Maps beta, looks rather polished with free offline maps and HiFi voice directions too. Nice satellite layer like GMaps and traffic info.
The whole Europe offline map is 9GB
You can set it to store map and data to the MicroSD card btw too

Mentioned Maps in my Windows 8.1 review, uploading as I type. Certainly nice, but for me it doesn't match up to Google Navigation. Traffic updates don't match up and I really miss the 'alternative routes' that Google offers up as you're passing junctions.
