New essential Android apps thread

I'm actually surprised Google released the text app onto the Play store. Tried it but as above, Textra offers more features.

Also, any gallery app suggestions? Flashed the Lollipop image on my N10 and it seems Google has killed off the stock Gallery app in favour of the horrid Photos app.

EDIT: Found QuickPic and seems to be working very well so far.

I'm using Piktures.

It doesn't have too many features, but it looks good. One feature it does have though which is quite handy is that it gives you the option to resize images before you share them :)

Thanks, I'll give that a go.

Does anyone know how to get Chrome tabs to appear in the recent app list? I googled around and there should be a merge option in the Chrome settings, but for some reason I can't find that on my N10. Tried the beta as well and that oddly didn't have the option either .

Also... opened the new Google Calendar app and it completely changed all my Calendar colours to different shades of green/blue . Luckily it was easy to change back...

Can anybody get ITV player to work/install on Android 5.0?

It got auto-uninstalled during the OTA update and I can't install the app anymore, just gives an "Error 505" message.

This is on a Nexus 5.

So turns out Thumb Keyboard 4 doesn't yet work on Lollipop :(.

Anyone got any suggestions for good split keyboards for landscape on tablets? It needs to fill the space in the middle with numbers, arrows and punctuation like Thumb Keyboard 4 does.

Anyone know why the Google calendar widget will only show stuff happening within the next two weeks, also reminders won't show up on the widget either, really annoying

What does the pro version offer?

Widget is functional which is good, just not as nice looking.

I wish the 'Google set a reminder for x at x ' would show on this calendar, such a nice fast way to set stuff but it's out of sight until the reminder time :(

I think it was mentioned earlier but can push be done with IMAP on Gmail 5.0 or is it only exchange accounts?

I *think* it's only exchange accounts? I could find no option to enable 'push' for my imap accounts on Gmail 5. Tried a few email apps lately and even though there was no push for my imap accounts I was quite liking Gmail 5. Then I read someone recommending Blue Mail. Using that now.

In Today calendar? I never knew there was a Pro version but never checked since the free version did everything I needed (I also have a pro license to Business Calendar and don't miss anything from it).

As for the calendar reminders via Google Now, works fine in Today calendar:

Anybody having issues getting Lightflow working properly under Lollipop? I just cannot get it to function correctly, either not dispalying a notification at all or if it does it's not the colour it's supposed to be, extremely annoying.
