does Netflix run smoothly for anyone ?
I have 2 devices of my own - a Note 3 (Snapdragon 800) and a Tab S 10.5 (Exynos) and on both devices when playing Netflix videos I get lots of frame drops/judder - its very noticeable and very annoying
yet we also in the family have an Ipad 3 and an Ipad 4 - and both play Netflix content very smoothly indeed - in fact its night and day
it is the video chipsets on the Android devices or the app ?

Works fine for me on our Nexus 10s at home as well. Are you running custom roms?

i've got 3 offers, xmen, 3 months of now tv and 90 days of google music.
had my chromecast about 3/4 months too.
Is there an app people use to alert them of free movies or do you just happen to notice while browsing?
I have exactly that tablet and it's 100% smooth, deffo no dropped frames at all. I've had netflix for about the last 6 months and had the same smooth playback on Z2/Z3/S4/S5/ipad/Tab S/Tab 10.1/iPhone 5s & 6. You're not restricting at the router level or anything are you? Fairly odd experience unfortunately.
Chromecast offers also has £15 in google play movies, might actually have to cash this in now
That's what I've got too, tbh all a bit meh to me I'll probably go for the now tv if get a now box for sky Atlantic if i move to virgin failing that the 90 days of music.
I haven't got the £15 of play movies option in the offers section.
