Update to my earlier query about an email exchange app. I've been using Nine - Exchange ActiveSync for a few weeks now, and it seems to do everything I was wanting. Purchased a license earlier today as my trial period finished.

I'm back to the simple swipe to unlock my phone, but have the PIN security built into the app (pin timeout can be set too which is handy), so my work emails are still secure.

get lollipop on your phone and use face unlock ;)
 
Depends, if it's a company phone with enforced policy via Exchange or some nice MDM steup then the acceptable unlock methods might only be PIN / Password :( These apps intercept (and ignore) the policy IIRC which can be quite... handy.
 
Google cardboard just came to my attention, I'm buying a couple from amazon for about £15 I haven't decided which to buy yet, a mate tried one and thinks they're ace.

The app can be got from Gps so u can see how your screen will respond without buying the cardboard, I'm about to try it.

Actually available from £2.50.
 
All three lines of the above confused me.

I got my Cardboard from TinyDeal for less than £2. Good for 10 minutes to see how Google managed to turn any phone into a VR headset.
 
Does anyone have any recommendations for decent games that do not have any kind of in-app purchases or adverts?

I really dislike this freemium gaming model and will happily pay for a quality game that does not bombard me with adverts or hinder progression if I don't spend £££.:@

Having also spent a lot of christmas playing T2R, I was looking into getting the android version.

How is it? rerading the reviews, there does seem far more negatives than positives for it.
 
Really? What are the negatives they are saying? The only thing I can imagine, it's not specifically written for a small screen so can be a little fiddly.

Chaps, I'm looking for a good sync calendar events app that I can sync across my wife's and my phone.

It then, ideally, needs to work with DashClock or be an notification extension that DashClock can work with.

That would be cool.

It would also be great if it could import google calendar details that exist already

Can't you just share a google calendar?
We shares calendars so that we can see the contents of each others calendar. You could create a calendar though and just save all events to that.

This, if you go on the Google Calendar site, there's an option to share a calendar, either with specific people or to the public:

The calendar will then sync over to the people you share with, you can even set it to allow them to add/edit/remove events.
