Feel like there needs to be a few threads for feedback about this, and a little more structured in terms of what's asked for in feedback -
One for bugs and technical issues, and collect info about browser version, OS, etc to aid testing and replication (with screenshots, obv).
One for user interface stuff.
One for features.

Everything's gonna get lost in the noise otherwise.

Not at all. It saves many people replying +1, this, etc posts. I would have used it 3-4 times already in this thread in place of a quick reply. My replies trigger an alert to everyone watching this thread now. It just makes things tidier.

We should turn it on and see how we get on with it.

Agree with this, using the Likes can often lead to a much tidier forum

I'm hating this change like the majority seem to be but know this isn't the finished product so will allow the guys to work on it and tailor it to meet the acceptance of users before damning it to hell... However, white text on a black background genuinely does give me proper issues and it's not nice :(

In the options if you turn off the "rich text editor for writing and editing" it will stop the white text/black background nasty and give you a not much better yellow-ish box with black text. Looks horrible but at least it doesn't make eyes go wonky and give a funny feeling head!

Apparently it's so baked in that it's not just a simple on/off radio button. I'm still not sure I totally believe the developers have actually been that stupid but that seems to be the response from those that know the software.

That is perfect, that is all that is needed for the main view in my eyes, apart from the little bugs people have pointed out.
