Is there some setting I need to alter to start receiving e-mail alerts again for postings in threads i am watching? Since the new look forum was made live I have stopped receiving them.
I checked I have "watch thread" checked, in fact I unchecked it and checked it again later, to see what happened. What I cannot see is an option to receive e-mail alerts though...

You might also want to check your privacy settings. Moving the forums seems to have set them to defaults which are quite open.

really dont get why you changed the forums.its like a assault on the eyes. first visit is like looking at a plastic bag over the main forum.the whole reason many like these forums is because the simple layout works ! it was beautifully simple.

i understand its new and often there is knee jerk reactions to anything new but what does the forums gain from this overhaul ? it looks worse id give it 3/10.old way 9/10. out of the people i asked to visit the site most dont like the new look.

this happened with the shop it still isnt as user friendly or as good as old look.

im guessing it wont be changed back would be great to give a option though for users to use the old look which i know is possible.sad panda ;(

native app always is better then a website .

You could get notifications, faster loading times(just load the forum text data), better UI etc etc

Having played with Mobile and Desktop for a while now I would very much like the following functionality:

On Mobile Portrait view, sigs are disabled by default but avatars are still there — this adds a lot of unnecessary space to each post. Would it be possible to have different avatar / sig options for desktop and mobile?

I'd like both turned on for Desktop and both off for Mobile.

It's already been said we aren't having Crapatalk or whatever it's called.

The new mobile site seems to work pretty well, and addresses the main concern people had with the old one, text scaling.

I loathe having to use Tapatalk on other forums when the mobile based view is crap.

No, requiring a native app to access a web based forum is very much a step backwards! And whilst the old forum was a bit cumbersome on mobile devices the new version does work pretty well.

As for faster loading times etc ... frankly I use other forums which have made the mistake of switching to XenForo and enabling Tapatalk and frankly it's slower and less reliable accessing them via the app than just loading the mobile formated web pages.

It certainly has parts of it that appear rather "large" ??

I'm guessing that's due to some type of multi-platform design to make also more moblie/tablet friendly.

Thanks for pointing that out, appreciated. The "upgrade" to the forum had indeed made some changes back to defaults.
