I absolutely detest it when a user says something like that to me as a developer, because they usually have absolutely no idea of the actual work involved never mind how simple they think it should be.

agreed, i dont see a reason for having to look accross the screen, bunch it together is far nicer.

No don't, its much better with them on the right, its too cluttered on that side with them there as well.
I don't remember it working for many years at least with Chrome and FF (I used to use it a lot, then it stopped working a few years back).

Related note, I'm very overdue a trip to the opticians and the farce Specsavers made of things last time (4 different sets of lenses in 2 years) I'm going to Vision Express! I'm not convinced they'll make the forums look better but it has to be worth a try!
