*** NEW Fractal Design Case - Coming Soon ***

Hi all

I am interested in this case for my i5 setup, I was woundering

q1 at the bottem of the case where the psu goes is there a fan intake hole to the outside o the case for the psu fan ?

Q2 would this case take the thermalright heatsink for the i5 chip which has a 120mm fan on it.

Q3 how easy is it to fit new harddrives as the cables seem to be all at the back

Q4 does this case make the fans inside quieter by much or just a littile.

Q5 wold this case take a corsair psu no problems ?

Thanks for any help

there is a filter and hole for the psu fan on the bottom also there is a filtered 140mm space next to it a corsair should fit i got a 850watt psu and that fits like a glove
mine is quite quiet with all but the side intake in and im using yate loon 140mm and 120 mm yate loons for the front and a ac ryan for rear out for the h50 and it still quit quiet
hard dirves are no problem really i got 2 in mine no problems good cable management will allways help though mine is alright but i still aint finished cable management lol

Mine arrived today (from somewhere else as OcUK doesn't ship to Slovakia), but i LOLed at "User's Manual". Best manual i ever seen - the product page on the web contains more info than this "manual" :D.

Do you have the 850W Corsair? I had a look at the dimensions of the Corsair HX 850W ATX Modular and found that it was too long for the suggested PS size:

Fractal Design website site says: said:
Supports PSU's with a depth of maximum circa 170mm, when using bottom 120/140mm fan location. When not using the bottom 120/140mm fan location, the case supports also longer PSU's, typically 200-220mm.

According to the oc product page:
OC Corsair HX 850W ATX Modular product page says: said:
Dimension: 150mm(W) x 86mm(H) x 180mm(L)

As I dont know if i want to use the lower fan location I had discounted the 850W PS due to this reason.

Hope I'm mis-reading these specs cos i'd really like the 850W PS :D

Thanks

You don't need the bottom fan location. Using the standard fans, 5 HDD drives :

Code:
/dev/sda: WDC WD10EADS-00L5B1: 34 °C
/dev/sdb: WDC WD10EADS-00L5B1: 34 °C
/dev/sdc: WDC WD10EADS-00L5B1: 40 °C
/dev/sdd: SAMSUNG HD154UI: 28 °C
/dev/sde: WDC WD10EADS-00L5B1: 31 °C
(Samsung is know to lie, so that 28C is most probably something like 32-34C like other HDD's)

The board is a GeForce8200 mATX board with Sempron 140 cooled passively with Scythe Ninja 2, temps are 44C for both chipset and CPU.

i dont use the bottom fan cus worried about cabes attacking it cus mine is bigger then corsair i think but not by much but as said above i have low temps with the other fans installed except door also as doesnt have filter so i dotn see no worries also if you really wanted to i amgine you could still fit it as i have just enough space i would say to fit it but my psu is modular so not got many cables to contend with

Thanks guys :)

I'm planning an extra fan on the front, and one additional on the top, hopefully be ok :)

Don't suppose anyone is using an x58 board + i7 processor? I'm trying to decide if the Noctua NH-U12P SE2 will fit ok in this case.

Thanks.

Ninja 2 fits without any problems, which is 152mm high. NH-U12P is 158mm high and according to the product page, you can fit cooler 165mm high. So i don't see any problems with NH-U12P SE2.
