New Gaming Rig Advice..

No I haven't, this is just starting from the SSD that was in his old PC with Windows 7. It did give me the option to start Windows normally but had no keyboard in so just started doing this repair.

I would recommend changing the settings in the BIOS - and doing a fresh install.

The MB may not need a BIOS update it could be that the onboard BIOS setting needs changing.

Would you like to do a fresh install?

However, could you tell me the BIOS that is installed - cpu-z will give you this info when windows has loaded.

I could do a fresh install yes but where do I find the OEM key? I'd need that wouldn't I when I do a fresh install?

Which settings in BIOS shall I change? I'll check the bios version while I'm there.

On the disk box/card that your mate should have supplied with the PC - or perhaps he wrote it down?

The onboard gfx settings - but will explain when you're there - there may be nothing to change.

(cooking at same time so responses may be sporadic...)

Nice! It's on the XMP profile, I changed that the other day when I was in the BIOS.

Says XMP - 1600

The frequency on each one says 800mhz (there is 4 sticks of 4gb)

Great - your memory at least boots at 1600MHz.

Back to BIOS when you're ready - but there may be delays in-between my replies.
