New Graphics Card Perhaps?

Just get a 750ti, it'll be fine with that PSU and it'll be a good leap up. Save the rest of your money for a bigger upgrade in future :)

Cheers for the help fella's, nice to have folks with a bit of knowledge helping those less able! Probably the best idea when thinking about the future. Eventually I'll need to upgrade my whole system and when I do, Id like to spend a decent amount building a good worthwhile system.

If I were you, I'd be looking to buy:
- New case
- New PSU
- New card
- New CPU cooler

And bring over the rest of your bits from the current PC. Would take your budget up to around £200. Happy to consider second hand? If you can see the members market on here, theres a Lian Li B25 selling for £20 right now, I'd be all over that like a tramp on chips.

If I was to do that, could I get all of that for £200 and see an improvement? I'm still not sure whether my motherboard would fit into a new case though.

looking more into the 750ti, its like half the power consumption of your old card but like twice the performance, seems similar performance to my old radeon 6950 which i upgraded from a few months ago but it was still able to play the most demanding games at high settings at a playable frame rate at 1080p and most games at max settings at a more than playable frame rate. The 750ti looks like the perfect upgrade for an off the shelf system with a low powered psu and cramped case like yours!

The one you've linked will be perfect. No need to spend anymore on one with better cooling etc as heat won't be an issue given the lower power consumption.

Regarding the overhaul suggested I doubt you'll get all you need for £200 (Even second hand). I honestly think the best bet is the 750ti until you feel you want to 'step up' to a custom build gaming specific build.

Hope this helps :)

THIS yeah exactly what i was just going to post!

Sounds good, go for whatever is cheapest. They all have minor differences but nothing you should be worried about at that price point.

From my experience the 750ti's overclock pretty well so you can give that a go should you want a little more juice. Plenty of guides for MSI Afterburner out there which you can use to get an overclock.

The difference will be night and day though, you'll be able to crank most games up to max/ultra with no FPS issues.

Other than a few components (Including the 750ti) nothing much exciting is happening hardware wise. We seem to be between generations and everything is 'meh', all the better to just save your money until we make a good leap forwards tech wise.

the difference with the kfa2 model is that it takes only 1 slot rather than 2 on the msi model, might be easier to install the kfa2 as it looks like your current gfx card only takes 1 slot and i cant see any screws to remove the silver brackets above your current gfx card in your case to get a dual slot 1 in.

The second bracket will likely need removing by twisting the metal out or will be screwed into a mount on the outside of the case. Either way it'll fit just fine. The cooler design is far better on the MSI.

Gonna order the MSI model. Just popped the second bracket out at the back. Hope I've done it correctly?

The MSI model will fit into there won't it?

Cheers for the help. Ordered the MSI 750ti this morning. Expecting it tomorrow, not anticipating any issues and hoping to see a difference compared to my current card. I'll let you know how I get on!

Cool, post here with the results! After you install the card, download the drivers from the nvidia website to get the most up to date ones, rather than using the cd in the box!

if you want to make a comparison maybe run heaven benchmark on your current gfx card: http://unigine.com/products/heaven/ pretty much maxed out but say 4x aa and moderate tesselation (as extreme tesselation will kill anything but the most expensive gfx cards!) run the benchmark and take a note of your score, min max and avg fps, then run the same settings on your new gfx card and see the difference!

Got a bit of an issue. It doesn't seem to be working. Received my card, inserted it and got stuck at the blue HP screen.
Removed the card again, inserted the old one and deleted the old drivers. Still no luck. Then reset the bios with no luck, so preceded to update the bios again with no luck. Having trouble. With the new card in I can't seem to get past the blue hp screen. I'm getting an occasional beeping from my system with the new graphics card inserted. Any idea what I can do?

If it spins up and powers on and you get a image its working.

Its the HP machine thats stopping you from booting with it.

Let me have a research one sec.
