New here and new build thread of course...

Thanks will try that but the thing that's confusing me is the Ryzen app still doesn't give me/show me an ECO option so maybe there is more I need to do :-)

Well the plot thickens as I now find that even if I were to update via the app it takes it down to 65W rather than 105W so not recommended. I found settings for PPT, TDC and EDC within the Overclocking section so I know how to do it now BUT for the life of me I cannot find the eco mode that I said I previously found.... Going to leave well alone for now I think...

Hi again, couple of things an observation and a question please...

1. I tried the game as previously mentioned and it showed as running at 25fps (no gpu remember) but didn't really get it so downloaded LA Noire as it seemed more like something I'd like (I'm not a gamer....) but no joy on this one. I mean it loads and runs but it's unplayable and just stutters from one image to the next so I think the test to see what the internal gpu is like shows it's maybe not great...

2. I have a number of RGB elements - MB, RAM, Case LED strip, Fans and cooler. The fans are controlled by l-connect and the Corsair RAM by i-cue and these fire up as configured at boot time. The l-connect starts at run btw. I'm not quite sure if the MB itself is configured by i-cue (I think it is as it shows as synced with the RAM in the app) but randomly it seems at boot the MB and cooler RGB don't fire up as configured. The MB comes up multicoloured and the cooler RGB is off. I can get them to fire up by running i-cue and ASUS armoury crate for the MB connected cooler but any thoughts on why they work sometimes and not others?

If I had to run the software every time I could understand it but just that sometimes I don't and cannot put my finger on why that might be. It's hardly a big deal but I would be curious to any thoughts you have.

@mickyflinn I checked the document and I was setup as described but interestingly if I now open iCUE it is completely blank, all the settings I previously saw, profile etc are no longer there. It does not see any of my devices or show anything much at all, very, very odd.....

Rgb isn't my thing but maybe a reinstall mite work or update.

3rd party software mite be an option.

Thanks and a reinstall did nothing so even stranger. I tried all the 5 mentioned, 2 of them gave blank screens and the others wouldn't/couldn't find everything so I've kicked them all into touch.

I thought it might be nice to have a bit of colour on this new build but I'm beginning to think I shouldn't have bothered

I have corsair ram and the only thing I have used icue for is to set the sticks to blue and then I have not touched it since. Icue does boot up at start time so not sure what your issue is. It will either work or drive you insane trying to get it to work.

RGD in PCs is a total s***show and the major players in this area should be utterly ashamed with themselves. They are across the board atrocious and everybody hates almost everything to do with RGB and the companies behind it.

A damning endictment of the entire sector.

I got a new keyboard as I was sick of the Razor software BS. The new keyboard software was even worse (SteelSeries), it adds 12 entries to the start-up list, and added a sound driver? I uninstalled all the software and drivers and now use OpenRGB to set the colours, which just works, does not need an online account and does not need to be running 24/7.

i did exactly that and set mine to blue, which they still are, but the icue software loads up but has very little content, doesn't see any devices now or anything at all. Reinstalled it and still the same. Very, very strange....

I tried this too but couldn't get it seeing everything, maybe I was fed up with messing around so much that I should perhaps give it another try
