New iPod??

No phone contract I suppose but it's still interesting pricing to say the least...
The really interesting thing will be pricing in the UK - because phones cost a lot more in America than they do here. The UK is one of very few countries to heavily subsidize the cost of mobiles - so you may be able to get the iphone for £50 or so on contract - at which point the touch starts looking really really silly.

Come on Sony/Microsoft - get something decent on the market for me to buy!

Not sure about Sony and their persistance on using sonicstage or whatever program they persist on using (I'm using a Mac and iTune is in there already) and I don't mind using WMP for a MS product. So Sony is out of the picture (especially with their recent players... nothing "special")

MS on the other hand have a great moutain to climb if they want to be anything special compared to even the iPod classics...

Least in my opinion.

Disappointed by the Touch and nano - the Classic gets my interest but Im waiting for the UK pricing before I decide... if worse comes to worst, I'll go player-less and buy me Guitar Hero 2 and 3 (when it's out) with my money from the nano sale and wait for the "next time..."

What i was thinking.

Hopefully when the iPhones here it'll be 3G and be about £100 on contract. £200 tops.

Sony I think have started to ditch sonicstage and bundle wmp with their players and support wma, so maybe they are finally waking up to what consumers actually want.

I have one of Jobs' turds on a plate you're welcome to buy off of me if you like. It's glazed and the plate has a mirrored backing. Interested?

errm...what's your problem?

my iPod 3g is something like 3 - 4 years old and i bought it second hand. I don't like the 5g's or the nanos/fattys. the iPod touch for me is perfect, so therefore as soon as I can I shall buy one.

EDIT: COME on store!!!

Nope, they don't use it any more, and they've just revamped their top line of players, still nothing amazing (better sound than the previous ipods did, but the 6G's have a semi decent dac... but no lineout :\).

It's crap :p.

Exactly - I remember the days when everything they designed looked amazing, all I ever used to buy were Sony electronics - lets hope they get back on track. Apple arent really innovating enough in the mp3 market - others will catch them. The ipod just hasnt really changed since 2005 which I suppose is a testament to the original design - but its getting a little long in the tooth now.

edit - just looking at all the ridiculous prices on ebay for the iphone, those importers will have lost a packet!

edit 2 - I am so dissapointed!
