New Lian- Li PC-A10B

chriscatt, you refused to answer my question, which means that you are wearing the sweatband.... :o

I have opened the top of the box and seen the bottom of the case

Hehe crazyswede, as I don't sweat I have no need for one I wonder how much I'll get for in on you know where :-)

Hi, Lian-Li don't actually specify one here http://www.lian-li.com/Product/Accessories/Window_Kits.htm However I'm wondering if one would fit from another model. I've mailed Lian-Li in the hope they will reply and let us know...
ChrisC
I've also mailed them to ask if they intend to produce a side panel for it.
I think all the ones on that page either wouldn't fit or look ugly. The shop in scotland that sells them would probably cut a window, but it would cost a lot and wouldn't look that great.

Flanno,

The Ninja is 110 x 110 x 150mm height

The Tuniq Tower is 131 x 108 x 155 height
It as only 5mm taller than mine so it should slide in ok but also it might depend on which way round it is as my Ninja is very close to the top fan, as can be seen by the photo.

Chriscatt - can you answer a question for me.
My Tuniq on my motherboard does not even reach the edge of the board unlike your Scythe which is narrower the the Tuniq. I wonder is the cpu socket on your motherboard placed very high and this is why the Scythe is almost touching the top fan. For this reason I am thinking I won't have a problem with the Tuniq on the Bad Axe board interfering with the top fan.
<edit>I just realised the reason I have so much space on top is because on my Eclipse the motherboard is mounted slightly lower over the case having an extra pci slot compared to the Lian-Li. So maybe the Tuniq would not fit afterall </edit>

Also, I understand 2 fans can be controlled, presumably the top fan and hard drive fan come wired up initially. So how loud is the rear fan and gpu fan ? Are they worth changing for quieter models (Scythe, Nexus, Yate Loon etc..)

And will this case handle an 8800GTX ?

thanks

Hi, without looking at a same sized photo's of the twp motherboards I wouldn't like to comment.

I can hear the fans, but they aren't intrusive. Two fans can be controlled by the front switch, mine are controlled by the motherboard but are running at full pelt, around 1500 rpm, because of the slow bootup issues created by the allowing the motherboard to handle the speeds. I might connect them back to the front case controller this weekend and see if they run quieter.

I would have thought that the 8800GTX would fit as there is plenty of room, although I'm not familiar with that card...

Ooops, big oooooppps, just checked and realised I didn't have the top fan connected properly and it wasn't spinning. Connected it to the motherboard and now it's a little bid noiser, thus I will connect both the rear and top fans to the regulator at the weekend. Still made a few degrees difference to the temps I guess...

crazyswede!!!!
Go home, you have my permission...

I have just come home :)

I am now going to..... zzzzzzzzzz..zz znort.... damn I fell asleep and had this dream about a case I bought....wait a minute...its not a dream

Bye...

Here are some pictures of the case out of the box and sitting beside my old case. It’s really a beautiful case. The layout inside is much nicer than my old case and everything feels solid. I really like the simple look of the front. It is so much nicer in real life. Now I will see if I can figure out where everything goes.

Chris, did you get a cd/dvd bezel with the case?

I don't think I will have time to fit everything in the case tonight as its already late and I am tired and I am getting up early tomorrow... :o

i think it looks great in the first picture .and i love it in silver .but why did you have to stand it next to that old black case

what cooler you going to be putting in there crazyswede

To start off with I am going to be boring and keep the cooler that came with cpu. I will change it later on. My next purchase will probably be a new graphics card (Not a G80). I will probably change it when I change the motherboard. The case was Novembers computer bit purchase and I will have to wait until December before I make my next one :)
