New look England squad (vs Hungary 11/08/10)

Right OK so Rooney was crap but Johnson, Terry, Milner, Defoe and Barry all had stormers did they?
:)

They did there jobs mostly, ronney couldn't even trap a ball at the WC.

Defoe did his job and scored a goal, Milner got crosses in and I think even assisted one of our two goals all WC

It's obvious you don't have a clue what you're on about so kindly do not discuss this with me

I think you'll find old bean you quoted my post first. I never aimed anything at you, so don't get your statement.

How can any of these players play as badly as the WC squad?

You seem to have missed the fact that England were dire. May as well play a whole new team and start again with a youthful side.

I know exactly how dire England were at the WC, you seem to think filling the team with players of a lesser standard would be better?

Richards can't get into his own team, Barry will struggle to fit in as well, Hart is back up at best, Defoe is good when he's good and awful when he isn't.

I realised you don't have a clue what you're talking about so I decided to leave you to it :)

Pointless me explaining it to you :)

sigh. how do we know if they are "lesser players" if they never get a chance to play for England for more than 10 mins a year.

If Ronney, Lampard, Gerrard, Terry etc were beasts at the wc then I would agree it would be pointless to try new players.

As it stands, we lose nothing by trying these players during this years qualifying fixtures. We can't do much worse...

Because half of them don't even get into the first team for their ****ing clubs!!!!!!!!!!!

Richards played for England plenty of times, he gradually got worse.

Barry is only there because of the injury situation with Hargreaves.

Have you only started watching football this year?

They have had plenty of chances and have never looked at all good in them, you do realise that Agbonlahor has alos played for England and was crap right?

The only player that you missed out which shows you don't really have a clue is Young.

I agree that new blood needs to come in but you can't just throw away that much experience at International level.

Terry, Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard must have over 300+ caps for England between them if not more but lets get rid of them all together and play a bunch of players that have all had their chances but were **** so never played again!

I can see where you're coming from now!

Like I said, don't bother trying to discuss this with me, you know nothing.

The current lineup are awesome right?

Ronney got golden boot, Gerrard got most assists and Terry was a rock at the back, ah wait that was all in my dreams before the WC started....

So your happy to play the same tired, useless players?

Did I say that?

What I said was lets try new players but you can't disregard the team that performed superbly in the qualifiers.

Lets try some new players gradually, what you are talking about is dropping every single player that played in the WC and replacing them with players who have had numerous chances for England and were all crap.

Johnson/Young/Cahill yeah lets try them, the rest, no thanks.

Seriously, I can't be arsed to try and explain it to you, you don't seem to be able to grasp my point.

Richards has got a bad attitude problem, you can tell he thinks he's god's gift. Not the kind of player we want in the national team IMO.

You can't grasp mine either.

Ronney is crap for England, same for Gerrard and Lampard.

--------------Hart-----------------

Johnson Jagielka Terry Cole

------Cattermole--- Barry-----

Milner--------------------------Johnson

------Defoe----Agbonlahor-----

That would be my team for the qualifiers.

OK right lets look at this in more detail..........

Hart - good shout, no good if he can't get into the team
Johnson - looked dodgy on more than one occasion, only there because there isn't anyone else
Jagielka - should be in the squad but not first choice
Terry - you include him but **** him off in your next post, the truth is you don't have a clue who would replace him
Cole - only decent LB we have
Cattermole - had a half decent season, that doesn't mean he can walk into the MF
Barry - did you watch the WC, he was probably our worst player
Milner - he's really not as good as people make out hence the giggles that Man City are paying whatever for him
A.Johnson - only one I would give some game time to out of your picks
Defoe - yup I would much rather a chance fall to Defoe than Rooney
Agbonlahor - You do realise he has played for England and looked like a lost ball boy that had wandered onto the pitch.

Yeah I agree, lets go with that, fantastic team.

rofl, how can we play any worse than what I saw at the WC?

Terry, I would ditch when Ferdinand is fit. I'm eagily awaiting to see how Smalling and Phil Jones develop the next 2-4 years.

Milner - our other winger is SWP or Walcott, Milner = no brainer for me.

Barry - picked as he is solid and again, like Terry with Hargreaves crippled who else is there? Muamba at Bolton? Parker? ...

Ronney - I said bench him, not ditch him. Defoe, crouch, zamora etc etc deserve a chance, a good run in the team.

Agbonlahor has had more first team football, he desrves another crack. Our strikes scored one goal at the WC, we need to do something!

With those players we could quite easily.

Terry you would ditch because he had a poor WC? Would you drop Ronaldo and Torres as well then? Hey Messi didn't score so I reckon his place should go to somebody from River Plate who can't even get into the team.

Milner RW - You forgot about Lennon.

Barry was awful all through the WC, may be it was his injury but then we could also say that for Rooney.

Ditch Rooney - Do you realise that Defoe and Crouch have had plenty of opportunities for England? Zamora? don't make me laugh.

Agbonlahor has always had first team football, Rooney scored 34 goals last season but lets drop him because Defoe/Crouch and Gabby should have a chance

Very amusing, I seem to remember Rooney being your best player in qualifiers and in that year in general. Even if you watched him yesterday he was a class act, I doubt any other English player would have been able to play that ball he did yesterday.

That team is an atrocity, where would the goals come from. Barry was infinitely worse than Lampard or Gerrard.

How many of these types of players have actually managed to transfer club form to the World Cup or Euro's, Zidane possibly even Brazilian Ronaldo.

Messi brought others into play and assisted. Torres was dropped...

Ronney did bugger all for England, couldn't even trap a ball.

Do go into it, I'm interested to know.

MU are always to blame for England doing badly.

United > England.

OK then, Wayne Rooney, probabley one of the most hyped up players in the whole world before the tournament. Then when he got there, be barely moved.

He didn't get one goal, set nothing up, got annoyed with fans who were rightly booing him. He didn't help the team one bit, he might as well have not played and let someone else play who was going to give 110% for the privilege of playing for their country.

And on top of his failure to perform, he got paid hundreds of thousands of pounds. I just think that it' wrong.

But even after playing so badly, he's still the best option we have.

No way is wayne rooney the best we have, some of the other players actually moved:D

I feel bad for the goalies though, they got so much stick when they had next to no defence to back them up

We were talking about form, none of those players took their club form into the WC, my point, you missed it again.

Yeah the *******. getting paid thousands for pulling on an England shirt!!!

You do realise they don't get paid for playing for England don't you? Or are you another fair weather England fan that knows everything about football?

Trust me, I watch him every week hence why he was expected to have a storming WC, the kid has just scored 34 goals and was by far the best CF England have but agreed drop him, I'm sure his replacement will come in and show the World what great strikers we have, oh hang on, we don't have any.
