New look England squad (vs Hungary 11/08/10)

If we continue to field inept players like Ronney, Lampard and Gerrard then even bothering to field a national side is pointless.

These players do nothing on the international stage, I would rather see others play.


So why don't we just call time on the England team and leave it to the history books? We have no youth talent, practically no English talent that plays european football. Scotland will be better than us by 2020 :D

It may come as a shock to everyone but I feel the timing is right. Having been ignored by the England camp for the past 3 decades I feel with the announcement of the latest squad I should resign from international football and concentrate on playing in the local mixed indoor league at a weekend :D

Looking at that midfield I cant say im that impressed.

Gareth Barry (Manchester City), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Adam Johnson (Manchester City), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), James Milner (Aston Villa), Ashley Young (Aston Villa), Theo Walcott (Arsenal), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal)

Barry is as slow as a donkey pulling a cart
Gerrard did nowt at WC
Johnson thmbs up
Lamps same as gerrard
Milner possibly still didnt look great at WC but he was suffering from an illness so I shall go with that for now.

no to theo, the kid has not progressed at all.
 
I'm really puzzled as to why Rodwell hasn't been called up. I'm probably biased as an Evertonian, but Rodwell has huge potential and could easily develop into a proper England international. He's comfortable on the ball, solid defensively, and can score goals, so I really don't know why he's been overlooked. Very strange IMO.

Agreed and to have a decent young player that can play midfield and centre back is a handy thing to have!

Gutted he signed a new deal tbh, wanted him at United.
 
Hehe, him and Arteta were the two best signings we could have made this summer, so happy we've got both of them locked down for another 5 years (or a huge fee tempts us to sell them).
 
Ben Foster is out through injury according to Sky Sports News.

I am going tomorrow night, at this rate I might be playing for England :p
 
Replaced by Loach and Blackburn's reserve keeper, presumably Capello's way of sticking 2 fingers up at Paul Robinson.

Can't fathom the logic of picking them over Kirkland.
 
I'm quite optimistic about this squad. A nice mixture of youth and experience and no Heskey or James. Even if our squad included Hitler, Fred West, Gary Glitter and Dan Corbett those two omissions alone make this a far better squad.
