Tbh I'm not sure how WH Smith is still going. They sell magazines, dvds... and stationary... what else...

Poundland next to go maybe? All the big supermarkets have competed well selling many things for £1, probably cutting into Poundland's profits. I noticed Poundland have started selling several things at higher prices. 'Only £2!', 'Only £5!'.

Not be much left on the high street soon other than coffee shops and charity shops. What I have noticed when these big places go **** up is the premises seem to stay empty for ages.

no chance, at least not in the next few years. remember the tech aware that frequent the likes of OcUK are a small minority. the vast majority of people currently don't know one end of n hdmi lead from the other so rely on the utter pox on society that is pc world/curries!

Every time I go to the checkouts at Smiths, they try to sell me some bargain chocolate. Gets right on my nerves.

I'll go with Homebase. Overpriced compared to the other DIY sheds and bathroom and kitchen retailers.

WH Smith gets by having convenience shops at airports and railway stations are even more overpriced then thier regular stores. It also helps that the post office rents space from them as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if Carpetright goes next. They are losing money hand over fist and was looking to restructure their debts last week.

Na. Homebase is now owned by Sainsburys along with Argos and Habitat. Sainsburys may bring them more in-store. But they are not going bust

Carpet right is my bet, wanted all tge carpet done in my house and they wanted £5k and a three week wait.

Local guy did it in really nice stuff but end of line and did it the following week. For £1100

I can see all the fast foods stream lining soon aswell.
