TFT by any chance? Happens with certain refresh rates on TFTs with most kinds of repeating line patterns...

Yeah that's what I thought perhaps it could be, but it looks like it's Firefox (thanks Zip) as it doesn't do it in I.E.

Ta.

Could do something like this...

ocuk_logo.jpg

Blend it into the black to make it seamless.

I love how all the admin staff seem to dismiss the opinions of their customers, even go as far to call them idiots, nice.
I reckon sales will drop slightly from this new design probably, but i'm no expert you guys are.

The colours look all "faded". The old site looked much better compared to any other online computer store I use - I liked the big "buttons" with pictures to navigate for components. Now everything is small and just the same as other stores (crappy) :( :p

I bet SPIE is sitting there thinking 'I can't win'.
Over the years there have been numerous threads on the OCUK website and in every one the majority felt that the 'old' website wasn't up to it.
People like me defended the old site and if I remember right SPIE put the feelers out because of one thread slagging his 'old' site.

The thing I would love to see would be links to other parts eg When reading the info for a processor and it says something like 'Only compatible with Intel based 945/955/975X series mainboards' there would be hyperlinks direct to the motherboards or something simple like the new NEC DVD burner with links to recommended media etc.

Don't be an idiot. Constructive comments, please.

im not being an idiot, it does look like at least 5 five other sites i could name, all of which i dont like the layout and now this one has changed to look almost exactly the same.

give me the old layout anyday.

Very true. The new site will be tweaked over the next week. We'll get there.

Where were all you people when the old site was being ripped to shreds in previous threads over the last few years?
Joining in no doubt. Opinions are very throwaway on forums these days.

Just had a browse through myself. I liked the pricing order the old site used but didn't like the categories as I could never remember what went where.
Yes, the new site has a somewhat "generic" feel, but then any e-store will - e-tailers tend to use similar sites because they work - much happier now I can sort by price/manufacturer etc like you can on a certain other large well known e-tailer I often use for cheap bits.

What makes me laugh is the people who say things like "oh, that's it I'm NEVER using you again because I don't like the online store layout as much as the old one"

Would you stop going to your local if they changed the carpet?!

Actually after playing around with the new website earlier today, i have to admit its growing on me and it does work.
I just think its going to take time before its properly tweaked and once that is done then it should be a lot more nicer and easier to use.

Plus i think its good to have a change now and again, i do remember Spie posting a thread here asking people to come up with ideas or plans about making a new website.

Give it time people, it will grow on you...i think it looks and works pretty well now. Only thing i would suggest is try and make a mobile web page of ocuk as well, as i do spend time browsing the site via my mobile web browser.

I may not like the new website currently but as said it will grow on eveyone and i will always go for the best value for money regardless of what the website looks like ;) .

I think they should change the colours in the OcUK logo, isn't it supposed to be a Union Jack? It doesn't look like one.

Who said it was meant to be a Union Jack? Besides, if anything it reminds me of the Norwegian flag.
