New OcUK Website

Sorry mate I never saw it, I loved the old site and it was the main reason I started using you back in 02/03

Agreed.

The reason I feel people are putting their pennies worth now and not before is because we had no idea there were threads ripping into the old site.

I frequent these forums daily but rarely visit general discussion. The reason i'm here now is because I visited the ocuk site to buy a gfx card and suddenly noticed it had changed.

Well I think it should be a Union Jack as the site is ocUK and it's nice to be proud of a well established British company imo. :)

What i mean, if they really were trying to have the Union Jack on their logo, it could have been shown a far more obviously. To start with, the colours could be in the right order etc.

Interesting to hear Spie's comments..it could just be his favourite colours^^

Could be! :)

Ok...

Likes..

Navigation panel on the left. Easy to move from product to product.
Stock Level. More accurate hopefully ;)

Dislikes..

Colours. Too many. Keep it simple like the forums.
Descriptions. Too simple on the listings. For example you don't know the cache size when browosing cpu's unless you drill in and then you lose the ability to compare to others.
Banners and advertising. Too big. Simplify them to one side and get some space back.

I just clicked on the ocuk tab to have a quick look, and before I knew it I was browsing around and looking different components. That would never have happened with the 'new' one.

One would assume the resurrection is only temporary while they iron out the bugs...

Ironically I was about to make my first order in ages yesterday on behalf of a friend (mainly to try out the new site) and I had to go elsewhere because the site was timing out :(.

Edit: Tru, 'tis true ;) Actinic is horrific. How a store with OcUK's turnover has managed with such amateurish software for so long defies belief. Any replacement is a step forward even if it does need some 'tweaking'.
