New OcUK Website

Could i Suggest you add something like a Comparison button where you select a Certain amount of products then Click "Compare" And you get both features and info Of the products side by side :)

I love the new look of the site.

The list of components to the left makes it much easier to go straight to what I'm looking for, instead of having to browse through various sub-sections first. The old navigation system was ok if you knew where everything was supposed to be, but first time visitors may have had quite a bit of trouble finding what they wanted.

The picture link to the forums to the right of the page makes the forums a lot easier to find, and leaves the links at the top of the page to concentrate on products alone. New customers tend to find that a large and active community gives them "peace of mind" as they buy from a different online store for the first time. This is because having a large forum lets them know that the shop isn't just a one-night-wonder that'll take their cash and disappear, and it's been around long enough to build up a large community. The larger link puts more empasis on the forums, and makes it more obvious that they actually exist.

The old style is still there in essence, but it's been given a makeover, touched-up, and I like it.

Just noticed the change. :o Bit slow on the uptake methinks! Anyway, just adding my opinion, yes I like the change. I felt the old site although easy to use "looked" a bit dated. Although that is sometimes not a bad thing, but the new sleek font logo at the top and the tabs and grouped products down the side is so easy to use! So I like that.

I think the only thing I'm not too sure about is the middle section. It is, like already mentioned, very similar to other e-tailer sites. Perhaps that can be re-vamped again?

The right hand side is nice with the forums, top-sellers (pretty good addition) and latest news. :) Very informative.

My only other gripe is the "stripes" behind the current banner at the top (with the Nvidia card) as when I scroll up and down it flickers which is a bit annoying. :)

So pro's,

- Liking the new layout in general
- The drop down tabs and left hand menu's are easy to use and the roll-over effect is handy.
- Info. on the right hand side is informative.
- Font for the Company Logo is very sleek.
- Just noticed the stock level, that's a nice touch.

Con's,

- Middle section is quite similar to other e-tailer sites. I think it's the "buy" button that's doing it for me as well as the layout as it crams a lot on the screen.
- Not liking the lines behind the banner as it flickers!

Hope that helps! :)

strange...nothing here

Is it not doing it for you mate? It does for me. :( I can't even do a print screen to show people. :p

It's hard to describe, imagine watching a TV screen after being filmed and you get the refesh lines but it's much much much quicker than that kind of when I scroll. :)

Do you use Firefox?

Because that Could be whats making it mess with your eyes

I always thought the old site was rather unprofessional and tacky. This one is much nicer and also quicker to navigate. Maybe it needs tweaking a bit but it's a good job IMO. Can't see how this can possibly lose you customers as if anything it makes you look more professional and trustworthy.

Finding it really puzzling how people are actually getting angry over this.

Also not too sure if the 'old' ocuk logo fits the site, looks a bit out of place on the top left and out of the colour sheme, i reckon it would look better without it there, though it is old school ;) .

I like the new site. The list view of items as opposed to how it was is far superior. Its quicker, and easier to navigate.

One thing though. The logo needs tweaking. The white oval around it does not look good at all imho, and is not in keeping with the theme of the site now. It would look infinitely better without the oval and with a different stroke around the outside - which would need to happen as its black.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder i guess ;)

If the lines are going fuzzy try pressing the auto adjust button on your monitor fixed my fuzzyness :)

New site is interesting guess like a new operating system layout you just get used to it :)

My point exactly

I think the new website rocks!

Having the sub-categories in the left hand menu is so much easier than having to click the back button and then forgetting where you were.

Want to compare cases for example... choose Coolermaster from the drop down list and you still have a list of other manufacturers to choose from within easy reach.

While the layout isn't far off other competitor sites, the menus themselves are so much cleaner and easier to follow.

I'm well impressed.

Hmmm interestung new website, going to take time getting used to it but my first impressions of it....not that impressed tbh. Ive seen better and done better through my work....
But if it works out for Spie and co then great:).

My 2p

On the old site, everything had its own larger picture, and description, and wasn't 'listed' like it is now. I liked how it was before like that, now its like its trying to be minimalist to look more tidyed, but makes it more of a chore to actually view the products.

An option to list less on one page, and increase the picture size of the products would be nice.

so this new user account area, does it allow for order history / tracking / rma etc?

looks good & different but will take some getting used to!

TFT by any chance? Happens with certain refresh rates on TFTs with most kinds of repeating line patterns...

I wasn't sure at first, but after having a little look around it all seems good.

The bit that made me place my order just now instead of later/going to my local shop to buy the product- was the ability to pick the day for my order to be delivered.

Keep up the good work :)
