**** New Official DayZ Thread *****

I hadn't played dayZ in a while.

Been playing quite a bit the past few days on one of the MGT epoch servers, im enjoying it a lot more as im getting better, i know how to navigate the map and what not.

Met a really nice guy that helped me the other night, but we got sniped by a guy on a roof, my aims not the greatest yet so i couldn't get a shot on him.

Also im finding it really hard when it comes to deciding if i should kill someone or not, id rather not kill a random person, but 99% of the time i've trusted someone they've just killed me, like i killed some guy who had a sniper, was typing in chat is anyone at the balota airstrip and got no reply, so my initial reaction was, he's going to kill me if i don't kill him first.
 
Done, will be on the server for the 2pm restart. Nice find Dave, something like this has been needed for a while. It should reduce the lag on the menus appearing during high traffic times :)
 
That's the one Witcher, it's so much better.

The guy that wrote it Maca is probably taking the reigns on the development of Epoch now that VBawol has taken a back seat. Had a long chat on TS with him last night and I like the way he wants to take the mod.

Yeah, check the rpt log, it calls the trader items in bulk rather than 1 at a time so reduces the amount of requests on the hive.

I play on MGT Epoch most of the time, don't trust anyone - bit of a shame, but after being burned too many times I just shoot onsite unless they're unarmed. Even then you need to be careful incase they pick up a gun and nail you in the back.

Good to see it'll be added to the vanilla version of Epoch too, in 1.2.
Quite a lot of the mods should be standard.
 
a lot of the popular mods should be standard with a simple XXX = True in the init.sqf.. save me and I'm sure Dave, a lot of hassle when doing updates. I have a thread as a to-do list everytime I update the server heh.. with all the little tweaks, can be a ballache to remember. Satisfying when done and up and running though :D

I do it from memory, Maca was telling me a way to automate it with some program he uses, when I speak to him i'll find out.

Its mostly the base building mod that can be a ballache, theres a few non-standard changes you have to make... I just dont get why after all this time, its still down to server hosters to implement all these HIGHLY popular mods!

Sup Dave, how do you do those awesome Intro vids? With all that glamour going on, I feel that Windows Movie Maker sucks ass in regards to audio enhancement and even simple intro's. I've tried EZVID and PINNACLE but both take ages to import. Some of my vids are 30GB+ that need to be edited from DayZ :(

so even though there is now a timer on logging out when in combat, you can indeed still quit out of the game instantly.........so whats the point in the timer?
