I think the screenshots that surfaced earlier were proven to be fake. But the sa release does look like its gathering momentum. Next autumn is looking possible...who knows..been waiting 15 months so far....
Edited for you.
Seriously, the sanctioning of the SA was in order for BI to get the mod onto a simple, easy to install file instead of the headache that was DayZ mod in the beginning, which required A2, A2 OA and a degree in computer physics to install it.
Of course they were going to iron out some bugs and stuff too.
Then, for whatever reason (Rocket obviously wanted the project to last longer, as long as possible) they (BI) agreed to let the spoiled brat create a completely new game instead of a touched up version of the mod. Unfortunately for BI the train has already departed and the game will probably flop upon its release.
All of the above is how I saw it, from my perspective.
He's the "spoiled brat" that not only sold them a ****-tonne of copies of Arma 2 + OA, but the mod has even spilled over to Arma 3 in the way of Zoombies, so he's helped sell a few copies of that too.
I'm not going to say whether it will flop or not. I for one am looking forward to it and hopefully can have some of the friendly and crazy experiences I've had so far in DayZ.
Seems like a pretty popular Panthera server, Dave? One of the few epoch ones?
This is a cool idea nice work. I bet if you sat and looked at how dayzc checks etc you could probs work out how to auto check for updates via a batch file as well.
Hi guys, really interested in trying this out. Need a game thats totally different to the norm and something to really get my teeth into. Caught DayZ on YouTube video and thought it might be interesting.
I have Arma2 so is it then just a case of downloading and installing the DayZ mod and creating a profile over on their site?
