New PC Bundle from OC - Help needed

HOLY S*** this is the issue isnt it, its the same way as they built up but thats the issue, its the PSU lead from itself to the gfx card that splits into two. that goes into the GFX CARD THIS IS THE ISSUE?! WHY DID THEY SEND IT THIS WAAAAY
Not for me to say - but it's great if that's the problem...

Yep, not great :/

Ok, i assume you know what to do - and once you have 2 independent leads installed into the card test in Windows and hopefully it will get past 10 minutes with out going t*ts up.

Done, lets test this bad boy out i suppose. Thank you so much for your help, Im literally going to go until satisfied so i will let you know if all has gone well by tomorrow, or i could be back shortly, crying. Hahaha thank you for your help man.

No worries, best of luck.

How did you get on?

I'm hoping no immediate news was good news and that you were terrorising the high seas all night playing Sea of Thieves.

Hello buddy,
So far so good, I tried streaming and playing the game at the same time as it obviously is a computer more than capeable to do so and it was on for a good solid hour, i ended up going to bed. But ive gone through sea of thieves, crackdown 3, and current playing Forza Horizon 4. Everything seems nice and smooth.

So i really do appreciate your help and hopefully this is the end of all this!

No problem - hopefully we cracked it.

If it does prove to have been the problem, i would rattle off a quick email to to OverClockers or perhaps post in their Customer Services Forum. They would probably appreciate the 'heads up' that one of their assemblers isn't attaching two independent cables to power hungry GPUs - especially when it's powered by a budget Kolink PSU. (They're, perversely, @pastymuncher favourite PSU - he wont stop talking about them :D )

@Plec Wind up merchant!! :D:p:D My thoughts on the garbage Kolink psu's are well known on here so I am not going to say anymore in case I get banned. What I will say though is that there have been several problems with these units in builds so far this year and I can't believe that they continue to promote and use these rubbish units in their pre built pc's.

Regardless ive just got off a nice two hour stint of Forza Horison 4 And it all seems to be spot on, so i do appreciate it. Thank you very much for all the help.

Hehe, thought that might wake you up - despite the clocks going forward.

in case I get...
Nah, giving an opinion on a component isn't against forum rules - and the rule can't be misrepresented because of the components residence...

That said the below did make me grin when reading the immediate sentence that followed it:

so I am not going to say anymore

And, no problem - you've got a great spec, enjoy!

*ignore our PSU ramblings - you've got a 3 year warranty so swap out the PSU on your 35 month for something like this:

My basket at Overclockers UK:

You chose a great starting spec to get started.

I've always been PC - never had a console until recently. I bought two XBOX ONe Xs for my kids (not in their rooms - one hidden in lounge and one in our bedroom, i thought it would be fun) - so they could play together and with their friends. Great excitement reigned throughout the house - 'Dad is the best!'. This was about 8 months ago and they're now glorified blu ray players gathering dust - the kids had got too used to PC and i may as well be using the controller with my butt when i try to play FPS games. How the hell do you guys do it?

i mean i found it easy using a controller, and before this computer i was on an imac using gforce now so you can imagine the pain

/crosses himself with fingers - i didn't know i was helping an Apple drone.

^Joke - i couldn't care less - but sympathise with your previous plight. The step up you've made is gargantuan - it should remain relevant (high/ultra options) for a good few years. More if you're 1080p gaming...

even some of Seasonic units have issues with Vega @Plec

https://www.techpowerup.com/249838/seasonic-focus-plus-psus-encounter-gpu-compatibility-issues

more down to Vega then PSU makers IMO
Six of one and half a dozen of the other - gluttonous Vega coupled with an over cautious Seasonic feature. I'm loathed to blame either - as AMD need all the good PR they can get and Seasonic stuck up their hand straight away - which is a rare thing these days.

Corsair TX/CM-X units could be a good shout
Yes, it's great to see that Corsair have found their moral compass again and not trading on past glories. They used to be my go to PSU back in the day.

Well, started streaming 20 minutes ago. 16 Minutes into streaming and forza motorsport 4. Computer shut down, so alas we aint fixed. Looks like its going back.

OH, ****!

Hoped we had cracked it as the fix had immediate affect and 'had' lasted a considerable amount of time.

I don't suppose you know what the load temps were on the CPU and GPU?

*still sounds PSU related - but there's a slim, very slim, chance that this may be unrelated.
