Kept an eye on them throughout CPU - 56 GPU - 51

no crashing, just actually turns its self off? if its a crash, last ditch would be to run ram at default 2133hz speed and have a wee look , but seems thats not the case

wondering if they'd swap it to gtx 1660ti

Well, i would direct them to this thread and see if they're willing to update the PSU to a Bitfenex 650/750W to replace that Kolink 850. Mention that you're prepared to do the fix yourself to save time and money at both ends. Plus, will be a PITA for them to replicate now if it's so intermittent. :/

They may be willing to do this as all paths lead to Kolink/PSU - you will perhaps need to remind them that you will/are be powering a Vega 56 rather than the RX 590.

Out of interest, does it power on if you reset the CMOS and load up your profile (check that you have a profile if you don't know your way around a BIOS ).

Orbitalwalsh - I might phone them up and see if something can be done that way round then.

Plec - Same goes to that, But also regarding the CMOS i wouldnt even know where to begin with that stuff buddy, dont forget. Apple W****** hahaha!

Yeah, best not to touch then, But, Kudos on changing the PSU, considering your lack of experience.

Worth a shot - re 1660Ti as it uses less power and if it was a GPU problem you may be eliminating 2 possible problems with one swap.

It's just one of those that ive been on the phone to them so much that i begrudge phoning again to say about this, thats the bloody downside.

So would you recommend saying about the GFX card over the PSU or what?

Try, using the customer services forum - it's easier sometimes and you can explain everything in detail, outlining what you've troubleshot. Plus, link them to this thread so they know how hard you've tried to resolve this issue yourself and the procedural steps you've taken to get to this point. It should help them make an informed, distant diagnosis/decision.

Danger of a phone call is that they get lost in the details in the first 5 minutes with nothing to reference.

As to PSU/GPU - there's a chance it could be either - nature of PCs i'm afraid. Your best outcome would be an upgrade of both. This may suit them too as it would save them taking receipt of a full unit and doing the work themselves. What they have to weigh up is whether all roads lead to these possible 2 components...

Worth a try - you seem like a nice chap, and the staff in customer services forum, in my experience, have always been fantastic if treated with courtesy and respect.

both! haha, try your shot at 650w formula and gtx 1660ti - least you'd have access to Gigabyte rep with that to hound OCUK :p

wondering if 550W formula and RTX 2060 would equal price of Pulse and 850w kolink....

Heads up. which PSU is it ...

if its the Core series =/

On the Citizen description it states a 600w bronze so I would have hoped they would have upgraded to the 850 bronze. Would have been a risk them sending an 850 core with suspected power issues with 600w bronze.

But best to check...

Basically computer is going back still but they're replacing the computer with

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/aero...tinum-rgb-modular-power-supply-ca-20h-ae.html

They cant send it out for me to replace they want to test it after the psu

Well, they've certainly upgraded, it's a quality unit - they must be hard to shift which benefits you - as it's leaps and bounds in quality over the Kolink.

I know it's a PITA having to return but there will be no excuses for it not working when you get it back. There is a sense in returning the whole unit as they may find another, indirect, related issue while they're testing which would obviously be a bonus for you if they do. As it will be all sorted in one RMA - hopefully.

Keep us updated - would be good to hear when you finally get it sorted.

Best of luck.

I really do appreciate it

Well touching wood, 2 and a half hours or a seamless stream of resident evil 2! went perfectly fine, well happy about that. Again shoutout to Brad, and you legends. Thank you

Great - i've always found their customer service staff really helpful, but i've only ever communicated via the forums.

Did you wait around until it was fixed - did they mention if they found any other issues other than swapping out PSU?

All things seem'd to have pointed towards the PSU, but i dropped it off and went down the road for some food, what was suppose to be a 6 hour round trip turned out to be about 8 and a half, horrific snow this morning blocked half of the roads to get there, typical.

Well! it looks like we are back to square one, low and behold last night it was perfect go to today, we jump onto a game and literally.... a minute? later. Power gone. yet again. This is gash this.

So what psu did they replace the Kolink with?

Yes, i was concerned about your turn around - only 2 hours max (if they started work on it straight away) - to stress test but more importantly throw games at it and simulate everyday usage abuse :/.

It can't be PSU - 3 DOA units, even allowing for the Kolinks, you would have to be extremely unlucky for 3 units to simulate the exact same problem.

All they've achieved is eliminating the PSU - still leaves a lot of components. What do you want to do?

On my phone so apologies if you've already answered this, does it go off completely or restart? Do you have anything under the c:\windows\minidump folder?

Can you download memtest86 and write it to a usb and run that?

Does the motherboard have onboard GPU so you can try running the PC without the GPU and see if it still goes off?

Yep thats the one,

And what do i want to do? in an ideal scenario smash the absolute **** out of it. But alas that would be stupid and i just need to calm down, There's nothing more than i can do then yet again get on the phone with them tomorrow. And tell them exactly what has happened, yet again. THANKFULLY it has literally just done it a second time BUT ive recorded what hapopens so im going to send that in an e-mail or something to them aswell, but again on top of that something weird happened this second time round, when i went to turn it back on after a little bit. The Blue light next to the power button was on, along with the little gigabyte logo inside the computer but it did not power up?!.

Im really running out of ideas here. So i suppose after a week and a day of all of this tomfoolery im going to have to leave it to the "experts"
