New pc time

been having a look at a final build, would appreciate any help from you guys who are a lot more knowledgable then me. anyway here's what i put together.

Then adding a 3070ti FE at £549, so still within my original budget at around £500-700 plus then a graphics card.

Sata ssd.. Change to a m.2 nvme ssd such as sn570. Yoi can get them for £72 but think £86 on ocuk, your choice.. Gen4 such as crucial p5p seen for £95...directstorage for games only works on gen3 nvme and above
As for the mobo..vrm's are alright but not great. Vid below if you go near end you can see (admittedly with 3950X 1hrs blender, board vrm's were up to 104 degrees(15mins 30sec ish)...At £110 you're not that far off getting something like the MSI B550 Mortar wifi for £130 (got to 71 degrees), which is a micro also..I do seem to get a bit fixated on running as cool as I can, so sure board you have is fine, just making you aware

sure you want the rgb ram..£80 is up a bit when you can get non rgb 3200C16 for £50 or 32gb for £95...or even 32gb of same stuff for £130
I'd rather get a fully modular psu..the one you have is a 5 year warranty...below has 10year warranty, fully modular..750W, but ample for 3070ti...if you want 850W it's £102.95(reduced from £133) on offer, or there's rm850 away for £100(sorry the £90 deal away gone now)

The fe is made by nvidia with there own cooler design and 2 year warranty , palit and other manufacturers tend tweak there cards ( like adding a slight overclock) and add better cooling.

The palit card id £559 on ocuk site for the 3070...thats the same price as the 3070ti fe card... Which is the step up... Aib are more expensive than the fe cards

yes, the 3070tife is a faster card than the palit 3070, and out of the 2, is 100% the one I'd buy...no contest. The palit 3070ti card is £668.99 on OCuk

Looking at the case, am starting to have doubts if its going to be too small ? Will it be better to swap for a bigger case ?

You can save £30 by going for the 5600 non X and use that cash on a better cooler.

so, many months have passed and still not purchased a new pc lol. although did book a holiday instead

If you can get a RX 6800XT it is a very good card but currently out of stock. 6700xt is a fair bit slower than 3070ti in most titles but it does offer very good perfomance/£ if you get the £400 version available on OCUK.

AMD have had agressive pricing for their RDNA2 cards over the past couple of months so a lot of that stock has been sold. I guess they wanted most of it cleared before they announce the RDNA3 mid range cards at CES in Jan. 4070ti is on the verge of being released as well and is in the regions of 3090ti performance so if that is sensibly priced ( I know big HAHA wanting a current card to have sensible price tag) it should be the one to go for.

yeah, it's finding the right performance per £.
not 100% sure how much gaming i'd do on the pc but would like to use it for flight sim and probably something like F1.

i am used to ps5 quality so as long as i can hit that then think it'd be pretty happy.

is ray tracing something a casual gamer will use ? am so used to just using my pc for web browsing and then a ps5 for gaming.

finding it hard to hit that right balance of cost per pound when trying to build a new machine. DDR5 or DDR4 will be my next choice after sorting GPU out.

It's something you should look but it basically makes everything look much nicer apparently. DDR5 doesn't bring much gains in gaming performance yet but that may change ad it matures and has become much cheaper .

suppose ddr 4 will suffice for the next few years still ?
probably look at 1440p resolution, i'd be more then happy.

budget ideally is around £1000-1250.

The 6800 is another £160 check benchmarks to see if its worth it but the 6750 is another £15 so would go for that.

You could upgrade the 5600 cpu to a 5700x with 2 extra cores.

RX 6800 would be the biggest improvement for games, I think, but the 5700X would be good for everything else.

You could also use it to push yourself onto AM5 (6650 is a bit weak for 1440p, but would do for casual gaming)
